@@carlosjimenez3177 ideally, and for best results the burr should be removed on the finest stone or on a strop. A diamond stone leaves deep scratches and undoes the work of honing.

@@JustAnotherDayToday Ideally he'd hone the back of the blade to the same polish as the honed bevel. Which means removing the burr on a flat strop. 1200 still way too course. A truly sharp edge should be equally polished on both sides of the apex.
