I disagree, I think J.R. was better than Abel. Both of them played clean, however J.R. did this while performing stick visuals, which is super tough, this is normally when a drummer's chops begins to become sloppy and his continued to be clean. Definitely J.R. all the way.

I get that the Lars Ulrich video was a joke, but his drum set chops are insane. I saw Metallica live in Pittsburgh last summer and it was an unbelievable show! They've been together for about 40 years and STILL sound like they did back then. Absolutely incredible! One of the greatest bands of all time!
