What's so crazy is I talked to my grandmother about 2 months ago. Dolton sent her a water bill for $2000 and told her she had to pay or get disconnected. She pays all her bills on time she went back and forth with them for a month and they finally said they read her meter wrong and her bill was much lower. She wore insanely expensive everything, always wore very high heels, those things are uncomfortable, and she always paraded around with lots of armed security. This is a city where not much happens. Her predecessor, never had security present. He drove his own car everywhere he went. We now have another black female mayor, who doesn't seem to know much of anything, but is fairly rude and arrogant. I think this is her first term, but I am not sure. It should most assuredly be her last term based upon the news reports showing her misdeeds. It sounds to me like an independent investigation needs to be conducted without her interference. If that demonstrates no wrong doing then she is vindicated. If she has done nothing wrong, then she has nothing to hide and should be happy to allow properly trained accountants to look at the financial records. She has no shame. She was at the township officials conference and training in Springfield with her entourage with municipal police vehicles. Not there to learn, only coming in with her 15 plus people for photo ops when events were ending. More money wasted from the taxpayers. Her bank accounts need to be frozen and the only money out to pay the bills required to keep the township functioning. How many hotel rooms did she “require” to bring two vehicles full of people. One of which blocked the overhang at the hotel for the entirety of one day. Who the heck does she think she is? Disgusting, garbage person. She needs to be put in handcuffs! Years ago the Board of Ed in Newark NJ spent a fortune on themselves. They held their meetings in posh restaurants they expensed, voted expensive cars for themselves and all expenses trips to Vegas and Europe for “seminars” and conferences”. Meanwhile the schools deferred maintenance and had outdated textbooks and not enough of them. The State took over the schools for a number of years while reforms were put in place. I don’t recall any prosecutions though. All public institutions need to have some form of watchdog control over them to prevent this abuse.
