Graduated from TESU. Not a local university, but it is a Public State University. Just be weary that WGU course names are a little wonky and not all will transfer to your major. Also the max you can transfer into your local university is 90 credits.

34% done with my WGU bachelor’s degree in my first year. Best part is you get professional certs you can start using BEFORE you graduate. I am already in my first IT job building up my resume. WGU is definitely a great school. Vlogs on my channel about my progress ✌🏽

@@Arcticzone-1107 I was able to get a hard ware tech support position. I was then promoted to the gaming pc dept. And now I am a team lead in that dept, all since January. I am testing for network + next week and then security + in July. At that point I will be able to get my foot into an “entry level” security role. I hope this helps.

Well here the deal, my degree would be free through the military and the cost of tuition at WGU cover the price of all those certs. So for those who have the college funded for, they should probably take the classes at WGU, correct?

Honesty the knowledge you get from study/sophia is mediocre. I transferred in a few. Im glad i didnt transfer in more. You can transfer in all the certs if you have time but everything is included with tuition. I have no previous IT exp. and I will finish on 3 terms. Avoiding all 'hard' courses will eventually catch up to you. Every class will build on each other.

It’s about saving time and money. If neither of those are an issue, then yes, doing all WGU would be preferable. A lot of people pay out of pocket for their degree though with no FAFSA.

Hi there! I've got my A+, Net+, Sec+, Google Cybersecurity, isc2 CC certifications and studying for my CISSP. I also have an AA degree and an AAS degree. After CISSP I am thinking of getting my degree in Cybersecurity. I feel like I may have a lot that will transfer in. I'm looking at probably going to WGU though regardless. I work full time as well. Do you think it is possible to get the degree in one term? If not, no worries. Passing the classes at WGU...do they actually have tests, or do you have to obtain certifications to pass classes?

You’ll have to talk to your mentor and convince them that class is a good start for you.. some are ok with it and some are strict.

why do certs before starting wgu? wgu pays for cert exams which should save you like $2000+ in exam fees.

What would you recommend, I get mil ta which is $4500 a year, get cleps and dsst free and get a cap of 4500 for certs which I was thinking of doing A+ and Net+ to transfer over. Also was going to transfer 4 gen eds at the least from my associates in electronic systems technology. But if its easier to do most of it through study I wouldn't mind paying out of pocket for it. I just want to save as much money and as quick as possible.

I like your idea of tackling the easy certs. A+ and Network+ are pretty standard. Also might want to shoot for AWS or Azure Cloud Certs if you ever wanna work in Cloud.

Cyber has no entry jobs. I’d always recommend Computer Science or Software Engineering personally.

I’m already in the it industry so I have a lot of experience in technical support for both hardware and software applications including troubleshooting networking issues as well. I like to get into cyber but I’ve taught myself coding years ago and found it interesting. What’s your take on those two careers? With software development I know there are boot camps to help you learn and assist in getting a job but not guaranteed. Then there’s cybersecurity though like you said you need experience. I’d like to take the path who can at least land me a junior role

I think it’d be hard to break into the industry with just a Masters and no experience and certs, but it is possible. I think you’d have better luck with the Data Analytics Masters, unless your heart really is set on Cyber.

Can’t transfer in then… unless you withdraw and go through a readmission process which takes a few months minimum.

Think I said 32 credits. Basically you need to complete at least 32 credits at WGU to get this degree. You can transfer in the rest.
