Even with me having epilepsy, and having the intelligence to pass matric to go to University, and I didn't pass with enough points to go to University, my parents told me I could do Matric over or wait till I'm 25 to go to University. I passed matric, never repeated matric and never went to University, and my parents are still proud of me. Love my Dad. Love my parents.

Mostly however... Respect for ourselves... An inner code of honour that allows one to refuse an offer of bribery without hesitation... "Old school"...literally and figuratively speaking... It is appalling to me that I even entertained the idea of how this father might answer... My angst was real... My apologies to you Sir... There are more honest people than dishonest people in our country... It is indeed a sad realisation of our country's demise when your initial thought is to doubt a fellow countryman's integrity...
