Here are some scenes from my whale watching tour on 14th September 2016.
Hervey Bay in Queensland Australia, sheltered by Fraser Island to the east, is one of the best places to view humpback whales as they take a break during their annual 10,000 km migration from Antarctica to their breeding grounds in sub-tropical waters. The humpbacks migrate north from June to September, and back towards the Southern Ocean from September to November, so at the time of our tour there were many mothers with new babies on show.
The commentary in this video is from the Tasman Venture tour guide. My apologies about the wind noise.
