Two questions for you 1. If a non-Indian speaks Hindi, then inform us how did he/she learn it. 2. Ask any Srilankan, where are their littering grounds and what happens to all the litter. Most of the time, I see very clean roads and fields. We Indians should learn from them.

Earlier we had problems with handling garbage,as a result reclyling plants were established in the country.recyclable waste is sent into garbage recycling plants and non recyclable waste like glass,wood, concrete is sent into landfills in "dompe" and "arawakkuwa".In the area I live, garbage trucks come to collect garbage twice a week.On first day they collect organic waste and on the second day they collect non organic waste like plastic and polythene.Sri Lanka is generally clean,but in my opinion we can do much better,just like Japan or Singapore. In Sri Lanka Hindi is taught at schools,even though it's not compulsory.For the advanced level exam,you can choose Hindi language as a subject.I have a cousin,she studied Hindi alongside dancing and geography for advanced level exam.Beside there are many people who watch Bollywood movies in Sri Lanka.Since hindi and our language are somewhat similar, it's easy for Sri Lankans (usually the people who watch hindi films often) to pick up Hindi.I have a classmate, though his spoken hindi is not good,he can understand Hindi conversations pretty well.(he never use subtitles when watching Hindi movies)

@@satansfans It has certainly spread awareness among the people and has turned places into clean, which is appreciable. But still many people throw the litter off the trains outside, spit/litter in the open, giving a damn to this cleanliness program. Another reason of this garbage, I find, is because of not sufficient recycling/processing plants/bins due to callousness of the statesman/officials. What if, somebody throws the garbage into the bin, and the cleanliness staff comes and throws it behind a wall. Ultimately this is not going to clean our country, unless we have proper and working recycling plants.
