Spotter PR is better than radar. With a 13km minimum detection range, you're only really going to be able to use the radar if you want to ambush people from behind islands. Which isn't how you should use the ship, mostly because it's too slow to flank unless the enemy team is all pushing the other side.

And they have well written backgrounds that give them more depth than simple "waifu materials". The major storyline is not good at all though.

@@Disruptuer More or less. Alaska does have better dispersion in return for one less turret. Though PR has better armor, AA and more suited for mid-close range. A close range PR with Halsey and Confederate for instance is very dangerous.

Why do people say the PR is mediocre? In the right hands its a MONSTER. You will be able to fight battleships in a standup brawl and your citadel location is a mystery to most players. Plus you will be able to utterly dominate pretty much any of the cruisers in a broadside fight, and your radar and hydro are great support tools. My favorite ship in clan battles

The opening scene is SO satisfying. Also, Puerto Rico and future Dockyard ships is very unique since it’s a showcase of the IRL process of shipbuilding. It may be crazy expensive and tedious, but that’s how ships are built IRL. Also, the Puerto Rico is basically a theoretical version of an actually designed sister ship of the Alaska, which means that it’s just a Super-Alaska.

You can citadel PR, but only from long range.

@@pututunik8748 German BBs can get citadelled from any range. You just need that specific angle to bypass the turtleback or steep enough plunging fire to punch right through. PR on the other hand is impossible to citadel at ranges closer than 10km (depending on shell ballistics). Around 15km was most successful for me.

@@cl4ster17 Long range does not work either, unless you catch one while it's angled to you in a BB, or you use a cruiser with both reduced autobounce angles and high penetration (i.e. Alaska or PR, as Stalingrad's flat arcs make the window into the citadel much narrower). You might get the odd citadel, but that's more a matter of being pleasantly surprised than being rewarded for your skill, because even the dispersion spread on a cruiser will make the difference. However, at longer ranges, you're more likely to hit the armor belt or arm on the upper belt, so it's harder to get overpens.

I can confirm all of it. I bought all 3 boosters right when the update came out, before seeing the crap storm, and decided that meh, I'll grind the rest instead of asking for a refund. I mean 80$ for a T10 AND the Gorizia didn't sound like the worst deal ever. Hooo-boy... Even with those it was an UNHOLY grind to clear the stages in time. I'm talking full time job with overtime. I didn't even get to see my family at all over the holidays. Oh, wait, that was the good part. And all I got to show for it is a mediocre ship that can't hit a barn. From inside.
