You need to get stick steering set up on that boat. I think you’d love it. Ride up front….
@Deep_Down_Productions2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jerry, chose not to get the steering setup as I use all that space for dive bottles/gear. By the time I have all my gear plus two divers she's a full boat. Think the steering console would be awesome with the 435 model with the longer hull.

Great video thanks for posting! Just a suggestion but next time you launch have a rope from bow to your vehicle. Then when you back up, pump brakes and boat will slide off and float and then you can pull away slightly and pull the pull back to shore with the rope, this way you can keep your feet ry until your park your truck.

Nice colour. I have a Mercury 20hp on my Whaly 370. I have always wondered how a 25hp would go with it. By myself though mine planes immediately and will get up to 43kph. I have had mine for 2 years and still say it's the perfect diving boat for beach and stream launching alone.

Good looking boats - I have the Pioner 15, quite a similar concept. Seen a few of these up here in Shetland, Scotland. Enjoy yours!
@Deep_Down_Productions2 жыл бұрын
Nice! I looked into Pioner boats but at the time I couldn’t buy one in New Zealand. How’s the ride on your boat, is it a dry ride in rough seas?
@michaelinkster49772 жыл бұрын
@@Deep_Down_Productions I think that most of these boats sit quite flat in the sea, so they can all be a bit “wet”. The secret i think is to try to get the bow up in heavier seas. I also have a Bonwicto and that’s a better sea boat, easy to get the bow up! We all try to go off in calm weather though! 😅

fyi the bung goes on the outside, so that water pressure keeps it sealed, not forces it open

Wow really, cheers I had no idea. Thanks for that piece of information 👍🏼
@besearchingforwisdom62672 жыл бұрын
There's very little water pressure on the bung plug from the inside, and it is actually easier to remove the plug when it is inside the boat to drain water out of the boat when you're on a plane. I do it all the time

Can you see where it is made and any mfg information? I want to buy one in the Caribbean and would have to buy via the Netherlands or US distributor. Wandering if I can become a dealer or find other distributor nearby South America or so..
@Deep_Down_Productions3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mac Expert, sorry no info on the hull regarding address of manufacturer etc. I bought my one through our NZ distributor who imports them from Netherlands directly. Good luck becoming a dealer as I’m sure this would be a great business to buy into.

@@macexpert7247 Im from the netherllands and yes they are made here (like 10 miles from my house).. u should look up whaly in the netherlands and talk to them about importing (i guess)... a mate of mine owned a 310.. solid dingy, a few ponts i dindt like aswell.. 1 is it isnt self draining.. other is the cupholders arent selff draining aswell.. also the 310 really doesnt want to go on plane (u might get it with a 15 hp but even then it looks weird)... the 370 does better on that front.. but is also a lot more expensive.. Its a good boat to leave out in the water.. but to sad it isnt self draining so ur going to need to pull it out or get to scooping.. atleast u can never sink one.. (it wont sink through rain ever).

how is it out in the ocean? have you capsized it yet? is it self righting?
@Deep_Down_Productions2 жыл бұрын
I've only used this boat in the harbour and ocean, worst conditions I've been out in was 2.5-3 metre rolling swells 25-30knot wind and she did great. I was drenched from head to toe, but I had a good smile on my face. Haven't capsized it and hopefully I never do, I don't think it would right itself once it's over.
@FourthWayRanch2 жыл бұрын
@@Deep_Down_Productions do you have any experience with a similar sized zodiac cadet inflatable? how would you compare? I think the flexible inflatable handles the waves better no?
@Deep_Down_Productions2 жыл бұрын
@@FourthWayRanch I owned a 3.5m inflatable before buying my Whaly and that did cut through waves better due to the deeper V hull going into the waves in larger seas. I do personally prefer the Whaly when it comes to a following sea as rides the wave better. I understand these boats aren't everyone's first choice but I personally love this boat over the inflatables that I have owned, I don't t have to worry about getting holes in the tubes due to fish hooks, knifes or spearguns tips. It has so much more room as a similar sized inflatable due to the cut out seats. Reading all you comments maybe the newer shape 400 may suit your needs better than 370 but for me the 370 does everything that I want it to do and gives me a smile at the end of the day. All the best with your new purchase whatever that maybe. 🤙🏼

@@Deep_Down_Productions I bought a 14' aluminum, with a 22 year old evinrude 15hp outboard. I spent 1000 fixing and getting it all running only to find I don't like it, I can't go on the ocean with it, at least I'm good at fixing outboards now. a lot of people are saying that despite the risk of damage an inflatable can bend for the waves. I really like the Whaly boat though, rotomoulding has come a long way.
