Thanks for the feedback!! I really enjoy the boat a lot and its a fun safe way to enjoy the ocean. I took two buddies out on it this weekend for a SCUBA trip.. We had the boat loaded up... Three big guys, six scuba tanks, 70 lbs of lead weight for our BCD's, coolers, ice, not to mention all the other gear.. We had a blast!! Not sure if I mentioned it in other comments, one thing I would do different next time would be to run the conduit in between the steering console and seat (the tube for the control cables and engine wiring harness) a little higher. On occasion I do get some water inside the seat, but not really any in the steering console. Mounting the conduit a little higher would solve this.. Hope this helps.. Post a video of your boat on your channel when you get it set up...I would love to see it...

I'm wanting a 370 to store in my garage, but figured I couldn't do the arch because it'd be too tall to go through the garage door - then I see your bigger boat with arch inside the garage. The two boats should be the same exact height.. My boat on the trailer with the arch on is able to fit through the garage door with about one inch to spare.. @Yikes9273 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ben!! The owners manual for my outboard recommended a group 24 size battery. I ended up going with the West Marine group 24 AGM which is a dual purpose battery . It has been great so far, but in my opinion it's too much battery for my needs. If I were to do it again I would look into doing another West Marine AGM Battery, but smaller in size. I think the next size down may be the U-1. If that has enough power for you it would take up less room on the boat...

Love the setup. Been looking now for a while a the same setup for family fun... wife n 2 kids... but never seem to find a video showing performance in rough conditions.. have u ever had to deal with a change in conditions... would you recommend?
@pacificadventure57923 жыл бұрын
For me, it's a great family boat and I highly recommend it. It is safe, easy to launch and trailer by yourself, low maintenance, easy to store, easy to clean, and has a low operating cost. I always check and recheck the conditions before I go out and I will cancel a trip or just stick to the harbor if conditions are too bad.. But that is true of any size boat. I really watch the wind and wave duration.. I watch the wave size too, but the duration of the waves tells me more. For example 30 knot winds will be miserable.. Lots of spray and wind whipped waves. The boat will handle 4 to 5 foot waves 9 seconds apart no problem, but coupled with wind, it may not be comfortable for the people on board. On the flip side, waves that are 8 plus feet with a duration of 18 seconds apart are actually kinda of fun to be in.. To answer your question, Im pretty reserved when I take the family out. The worst I have had them out in is 5 to 6 foot waves about 8 seconds apart. It started out as a calm day, but the wind and waves picked up in the afternoon. We had to cross a small (about a mile) section that is always rough with a washing machine sea state. This particular section is where a deep underwater canyon rises up and the water is deflected off sea walls from the harbor mouth. The family had fun with it, but we were only in it for about a mile. It's a safe boat and it will handle much worse conditions than you will want to be out in.. Sorry for the long answer..Hope this helps...

Great setup 👍. Couple of questions. Did you bolt the engine or just used clamps? Also what are those hooks in big holes on transom? Last one, where did you install the transducer? Thanks again!
@pacificadventure57922 жыл бұрын
Sorry it took so long to type back... I bolted the engine to the transom.. The transom came with the holes predrilled... It must be a standard hole pattern. The holes come sealed off with some rubber plugs that you need take off to mount it this way. I think your second question was referring to the eyebolts I have coming out of the transom.. I installed those for two reasons.. 1) To tow a tuber. We haven't done it yet, but it will be fun.. 2) Incase I need to tow another boat.. I installed the transducer on the transom, on the right side of the outboard. Its screwed into the plastic and sealed with sealant.. Haven't had any problems mounting it this way.

It is the 2.5 Mantus anchor in the video. We have a sandy bottom where we boat and I have never had the anchor break free once set. That being said, we sometimes dive and leave the boat unattended on anchor. It has never happened, but I was worried that with the afternoon winds we get here that the anchor may slip when the wind and seas pick up. I upgraded to the 8 lb Mantus for peace of mind for diving. The anchor still fits in the anchor locker, but you do have to disconnect the roll bar on it. It takes about 30 seconds to break the anchor down and stow it in the locker.. Hope this helps!!

@Yikes9273 жыл бұрын
The cavitation plate should be even or slightly lower than the keel. My Suzuki is a long shaft. Resting on the transom, my engine was also about three inches too low.. Luckily my engine mount has several adjustment options so I was able to raise it without issue. When my engine was too low it just increased the drag it had in the water. Hey bro! I'm having crazy trouble setting up my 370. Where did you get the conduit and bulkheads that you used to run your control lines through the seat? As far as the hole in the console: do you get any water that gets into the console? I would be so grateful if you could help me out with this. I have similar equipment, just different sizes (you can see some vids on my channel) and it's driving me crazy. Thanks in advance!
@pacificadventure57923 жыл бұрын
The conduit is listed as an, "Outboard rigging kit".. West Marine and Amazon both sell them. I think it only comes with one flange so you will have to buy another (one flange for the console and one for the seat). I also used a couple, "Cable boots", one to bring the throttle control cables from the control box inside the console, and the other one I used to make everything more water tight as all the cables exit the back of the seat. Be sure and get the cable boots with the ring.. When we use the boat for SCUBA, I do get a fair amount of water inside the boat (4 divers in wetsuits with all their gear coming back into the boat). A little bit of water may make it inside the console, but its pretty rare and minor. It has never been an issue. The rear seat is another story though. Since the seat is farther back in the boat, it will get water in the bottom of it. It has never been an issue, but if I were running the cables again I think I would rig the conduit higher. I ran mine on the floor of the boat.. I think you would be better off running that conduit higher, maybe just below the top of the seat. I have seen some people run their cables and wires through the hull too.. It looks clean, but now the hull is no longer water tight. In my opinion I would avoid this.. I would rather deal with the little bit of water inside my seat that I can wipe out with a towel at the end of the day than have water getting inside the hull.. Hope this helps and sorry for the long answer.. Let me know if you have any other questions.
