Some of those old embossed bottles can be very valuable if they're in good shape. Something most people don't know? People didn't always have to buy stamps to mail letters and packages. They could put the letter in the mailbox with enough change to cover the postage, and the carrier would take the money and the letter, putting a stamp on it when he got back to the office. Many times the money would fall on the ground, and especially in the winter, rather than digging through the snow, he would simply leave it and put the stamp on it when he got back to the office I used to take my metal detector on rural dirt roads and find many old coins along the edges where the mailboxes used to be. Lots of old quarters and dimes.

My grandmother kept a gallon milk jug cap in the mailbox for just that purpose. She rarely bought stamps.

I have lived in my community for over half a century. I know as a fact, there are city athletic facilities and neighborhoods built on top of dumps and land fills from the 1950’s-1980’s. I have heard many buildings are sitting on city dump sites from the 1860’s-1900’s. Human trash is everywhere.

@swayback7375
@swayback7375 Ай бұрын
Uh… I guess some people don’t know but that’s one of the main concerns with plastic, it falls apart, oxidation from air and especially sun will make it crumble in a few years in the sun, buried it will stay intact MUCH longer… but the problem is this crumbling plastic pieces, micro plastic is what we now call it now, is not “biodegraded” it’s simply broken into tiny pieces that we can’t see but we’ve made so much of it that all of us and our food is full of micro plastics.

@@gregb6469I agree but I don’t think it will happen because plastic is in everything…flooring, plumbing, siding, shoes, clothing, diapers, food packaging, vehicles, furniture! You name it, it’s made of or coated in plastic in one form or another. 😵‍💫

That scraping sound... People need to ne more aware of misophonia. I have it and it SUCKS! It's a disorder where some sounds affect your brain. The best way I can explain it is you know how you feel when someone scrapes their nails on a chalkboard? Imagine that feeling times 100 trapped in your brain... Certain sounds make it feel like someone's running a cheese grater on my brain. And sometimes it's sounds that didn't bother me before. It even affects my job because I was a rideshare driver but people like to have windows open, even on the highway, and the sound of the wind coming through the windows completely disorients me. I'm just saying this because that clip started with such an atrocious sound that I literally doubled over in convulsion... But the rest of this is freaking awesome!
