More heart-wrenching video out of Breathitt and Pike County of "catastrophic" flooding in eastern Kentucky. Governor Andy Beshear said two people have died in Perry County, another person died in Knott County.

Look up the Licking River Flood of 1939. Its in the Almanac, and the events are very similar. My family learned then do not build your home next to what appears to be a tiny stream in KY. Always build up on the higher ground. Many people died then just like now. It’s very sad to see. Let’s not bring politics into this, people are losing everything. Now is NOT the time to be lecturing people about climate change, this has happened before.

This is why you dont build in flood plains, they formed over thousands if not millions of years. Just because it hasn't flooded in the last 50 years doesnt mean if wont ever flood again. Shame it has to happen this way but what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

I 100% agree. I live about 30 minites away from Pike county and have seen almost all the buildings in this video. It floods quite often but its never been this terrible.

There's so many hardships in this life, but one thing I do know is that Jesus won't leave you or forsake you and he understands what you're going through and have been through. Psalm 27:10 says "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up." Let him be your heavenly Father and heal all your heart wounds. That is why these homelessness creating, rent raising, extreme weather events are increasing in strength and frequency. It was 117 degrees in Portugal in July 2022. We need to understand that being at the top of the pyramid of creation means that everything we do trickles down the structure, from top to bottom. Even the internet, which we invented purportedly in order to connect people, is being used to abuse, deceive, and exploit people. When there is such a negative element in a system, and that element is at the top of the system, how can the entire system not go awry? Therefore, if we want the weather to cool, the sea-level to drop, and the storms to subside, we must cool the fire and calm the storms between us.
