What surprises me as a Belgian living in Belgium, besides the real estate prices, is your additional costs like property taxes which are EXTREMELY high compared to Europe and also your monthly fees for your condominium/HOA which are easily 15 to 30 times higher than what we pay monthly here in Belgium and on top of that, you pay for your medications and healthcare 100 times more than what we pay and that's with health insurance 😂 So yes we have 38% taxes on our salaries but in the end...

My baby’s mother lives right near the Brooklyn apartment in Bed - Stuy and the area is horrific. For 1.5 million you can definitely get into a better neighborhood.
@justinmartinez41825 күн бұрын
I'm from the area. Born and raised. It's a good location on the border of Clinton hill and bed stuy
@amg916311 күн бұрын
@DWilliam1 I remember Bed Stuy and East New York as being rough areas since the 1980s. I guess despite the over developments from real estate companies (looking at you, Corcoran) the area has not gentrified according to plan. Bed Stuy does have some really great pre-war brownstones, but the area may not be so nice and the walk to the subway stop (and the subway line) can have problems.
@BaotownOh10 күн бұрын
The area is great - the avenue is beautiful. There’s a subway entrance on Bedford. Every subway stop/line has the same problems right now really - I could swear NYC is cloning that one nodding guy holding the doors open. I bought the apartment in question😅

@ Well, my son’s mother is from the area for years. She lives in a new building with an electronic doorman, rooftop, garage, party room with pool table and gym and a 1 bd apartment rents for almost $3K. She’s off of Albany Ave and Fulton. They shot 7 people killing 1 during a sweet 16 party a few years back. Down the block on the way to the C train there was a killing at the McDonalds over “cold fries”. I’m a born and bred NY’er for almost 60 years and lived in both the South Bronx and Harlem(as well as the Village and Murray Hill) and I know a marginal neighborhood when I see it. It’s still dangerous, somewhat dirty and doesn’t have anywhere near the amenities of other areas in the city for that price. Good luck with your new purchase.

Great video! My favorite, and I can't believe I'm saying this as a Brooklyn girl, is the Staten Island house. With some updating, it's a house that my family can grow in and I can see my mother moving in with us too and she have space too. Manhattan - nice but I don't like high floors and I prefer the west side. Queens - I'd rather pay $1.5 for a single family home in Bayside, Douglaston, Jamaica Estates, etc. Brooklyn - that one is by where I live now. Good street, agree about the sick vent, but otherwise it's ugly 😔 Bx - ok, but the smallest bedrooms ever. For $1.5, I'd head due north to Westchester or west to Riverdale or Fieldston

The house is Staten Island needs lots of updating but it is livable and the updating can be done later. I am not familiar with the Bronx. The apartment in Queens was nice, but you can get a house in Queens for $1.5. The apartment in Brooklyn was awesome, but I love the City....the convenience...can't top that, plus the view from that apartment was excellent!

What would the yearly income need to be to be approved for a $1.5 million property.?
@justinmartineznyc20 күн бұрын
The banks look for 40 to 50% of DTI. So if the monthly payment on the property is $4000 the bank would want t see a monthly income of around $9500 to $10,000. I'll add that in my next video
