What's your favorite breakfast food? For me, eggs!
@Riandisa4 ай бұрын
My favorite breakfast food by far is french toast. It has the creamy custardy eggy flavors which I adore, a light crispiness outside, and it can be enjoyed as is or with syrup, fruit, or nut spreads if you want extra sweetness.

my favorite breakfast is a some greek yoghurt with fresh fruit. like strawberry's, blueberry's, something like that. i eat it almost every morning
@s3studios5974 ай бұрын
Favorite? Either pancakes or french toast with a smoothie Most common? Cereal because I can't be assed enough 90% of the time, especially at 6-7 in the morning.
@sarathorsten69364 ай бұрын
These days, homemade chicken sausage patties. I'll have a patty with a soft boiled egg mashed on some toast. So much more satisfying than just eggs or toast.

I'll be honest, when I was in undergrad and buying everything for myself, my choices for groceries were limited to Walmart or Wegmans. I do love Wegmans, but I ended up primarily shopping at Walmart, simply because the majority of the things were similar between the two and it was a hell of a lot cheaper at Walmart. The only thing I insisted on getting at Wegmans was meat, because, at that Walmart, the quality of meat was somewhat suspect. When I couldn't afford to shop at a proper grocery store, Walmart was something of a saving grace.

great video. it perfectly showcases the differences between the two stores. another idea could be to compare how many meals you can prepare with a certain amount of money versus how many ready-made meals you could buy for the same amount from various places. but you have to use the same ingredients as in the ready-made ones and whatnot
@rbdesignsnh4 ай бұрын
not entirely surprising that Walmart is cheaper, but extremely cool to see JUST HOW MUCH cheaper it was. 19 meals vs 33 meals is absolutely INSANE. unless you are searching for some eclectic thing that Walmart wont have, its definitely the place to shop for those not trying to break the bank.
@PaulKaryakos04 ай бұрын
Even I was surprised. That is a HUGE savings. Imagine going from 4 to 5 days of food to 6-7 Days of food. That is SIGNIFICANT

I've never shopped at a Whole Foods because they aren't in my area, but I will say that there is an olive oil shortage currently. Between the heat and wildfires (in the US and in Europe) it's killed a lot of the olive harvests the past year or two, so prices are way up.

Great video once again. Another idea that i think is good is to see how many meals you can make by buying the ingredients from farmers market and maybe proteins from a butcher. I don't know if it will cost more or else,but i think is a nice idea.

Im from Walmart country. Its hard to compare to how cheap they can be. Its hard to find ethnic food or ingredients but its a lot easier to justify spending more that stuff when everthing else is cheaper

how do you pack your meal preps? Fridge or Freezer storage???
@PaulKaryakos04 ай бұрын
I usually freeze my meats and eat the quinoa etc within 7 days
@pathoodjoy4 ай бұрын
Is chicken breast protein more efficient than legs/thighs? Probably not given the price difference even with the bones/fat, and often the combination white/brown meat is tastier. Those of us who always have to shop on a budget compare more than just cost per store. Some products take more prep time but save lots of money, such as dry legumes versus canned. Taste of fresh lemon juice versus bottled - lots of taste for lots of price. Some of us have always had to make the choice for affordability.Thanks for showing this comparison of the 2 stores.

it actually is due to it being more lean and less fatty

How do you keep the meal preps to last that long for a week? Don’t meals last only 3 days? Do you freeze them? Questions?
@PaulKaryakos0Ай бұрын
I usually go 5 days without issue. But for this video I did freeze a lot of the protein since I made so much. It was more for the example than anything.

I sometimes cringe at how cheap you can get ingredients over there, but if chicken for 6.50/lb is cheap, that's probably the closest you ever were to prices in Switzerland. Some great ideas for my next meal prep though as always

6.50 per pound of chicken breast is not cheap. That's just the cheapest you can get at whole foods which is typically more expensive than other major grocery chains. Yea Chef is able to get Chicken Breast at Walmart for 2.60ish a pound.
