It's hard to get around this one. The majority of the girls were mini me as the title infers a genetic component to the relationship between mother and daughter, so not mentioning it would have been dishonest. But you are correct; anyone who adopted needed a notation although we know they are no less their daughter than the ones that were birthed by the actreses.

Daughters can be a mix of both parents, but they seldom look like their mom only. They either look like their dad or their paternal aunt. I was told I looked like my paternal aunt (her son said so), even though she and my mom didn't look alike. In essence, paternal genes are strongly prevalent in daughters. I believe the reason for this is that the father contributes an X chromosome that trumps the maternal chromosome.
