Important note: All new PGR players get a S rank selector with the starter S ranks, so if you want Luminance or Tenebrion, get them there instead (You can also pick Entropy, Ember or Pulse, but they are the 3 you should avoid). The event selector has more and better options exclusive to it. You may also want to wait to see who you will get in the standard banner's easily achievable 40 pity for new players (All S ranks go to standard banner 3 patches after debut, so who knows how lucky you can get...wouldn't want to get a dupe, since SS is farmable and SSS is too expensive). Btw, yes, you can beat everything with skill and proper investment, you will just fail to get top ranks in certain leaderboards and this makes the grinding of a few rare resources a biiiit slower (usually not THAT much of a big deal and you also only really lose upgrade mats, not gacha currency, so don't worry about that). I literally started the game by only pulling on the standard banner to save for NieR rerun and I got really impressive scores and achievements with extremely budget and/or suboptimal teams. Unrelated fun fact: The white haired mecha girl with massive honkers (Rosetta) has the voice of Raiden Shogun 👍🏻

If you just want to have fun, however, you should not avoid anyone, everyone works, even if getting top scores will be harder (which is not that big of a deal, anyway)

You're going to want to wait till a 100% rate up banner shows up to go for Liv Empyrea. It's a banner that has ALL of the S ranks available to pick to summon for, and like the name implies, it's 100% chance that character drops when an S Rank drops. The regular 70% banner is still better than most other gachas that shove 50/50s down your throat all the time... but losing to the 30% is arguably more painful since you know in your mind that the odds WERE in your favor and you STILL lost. DX

Yeah the only team I haven't invested in is dark. Also luna released and reran while I was taking breaks from the game, thankfully though you can get by without specified teams if you just want to clear content. So not having a dark team hasn't felt bad at all.

FYI all 3 top recommended characters (Plume, Luna, & Rosetta) are future-proof as of current CN meta. As in, they have yet to be replaced on CN meta by any new characters. Which means you'll be using them for at least another... approximately 1.5 years in meta from our current global timeline, until whenever it is they do actually get replaced. We're getting Bianca Abystigma in September who will replaced Alpha CA for Physical DPS, & around July we're getting Karenina Radiant Daybreak who will become the new Dark Tank for a lot of teams (depends on your S Kamui's investment [or your No21's investment, in your case], as Karen needs at least SS2 to be better than a SS Kamui IIRC & SS3 to sub-dps reliably/well). At that point, dark meta becomes Luna, Selena, & Karen/Kamui for the foreseeable future. Also no, you can't replace Chrome Glory. Sorry dude. Unless you go off-element, your only other Ice Tank option is Changyu &... well... haha. Just use Chrome Ok. If you do care about meta, make sure to pull for Nanamech. She's unreplaced on CN as the premier Fire Tank. Her 6* signature weapon is also extremely good if you're willing to put the money/BC into it too. & yes, you do need multiple teams. If you only "main" one team, you won't be able to clear anything outside of story content essentially. All main, non-story battle content for PGR requires teams of every element in the long-run.

I think you're terming Karenina's rank wrong. In order to get her second SS level passive, you just need to get her to SS, the level 1 SS passive unlocks at S rank fragment node 5, so getting her to SS with a single dupe will already get you both passives. SS3 is when she's at SS Rank, with fragment node 3 unlocked, roughly 27 fragments invested towards SSS. And in terms of QTE support, Karenina Dark actually outperforms Tenebrion at base S Rank, since her QTE shreds 15% Dark resistance on its own, in comparison to Tenebrion's maximum 10% Dark shred, and her signature 6 star weapon bumps that up to 25%, so for once we don't have to summon our souls away for the maximum S Rank Tank resistance shred at SSS. All of Karenina Dark's Rank passives just boost her on-field effectiveness, and THAT'S what is considered worse than Tenebrion, she just deals less damage than him until you invest a little.

Also CN is 2yrs and 4months ahead of Global there is a slight power creep but it's their UTILITY that is superior, Not actual damage output (Unless its a Attacker Constructs like Alpha Weaver, Lee Hyperreal, or the Bianca Stygma but those units are a long way off . F2P units like Vera Rozen are still quite Effective to be frank, and even older S-Ranks like Plume and Abyss are still prevalent, the difference between damage for a Older and Newer S-rank is kind of neglegable, what changes is their UTILITY as I mentioned, for example the units above are Unique BECAUSE their Ultimates offer a TIME STOP utility which can freeze a Timed stages' Timer Clock During their Ultimate's Animation, which can be pretty broken in certain modes.While their previous itterations Would lack this unique Utility their overall damage is essentially similar a few hundred to couple thousand extra dmg doesn't mean too much in PGR to be frank. So My Advice is this: If your playing on a Mobile device such as an iPhone or Tablet Ranged units tend to preform a bit easier, while melee seems to do better on PC, it's a button placement issue mainly.IF your playing on tablet however you can solve this with a gaming controller which makes life 1000% better. Other advice: Upgrade ALL of the Liv's and Nanamis' you get to sSs Rank, all of them provide amazing Utility & Support benefits no matter the team you put them on. a B-rank Liv (The STARTER LIV) at sSs rank offers a 15%physical damage buff as a Passive while she's off the field on any Physical team that buff is terrifying this is on top of her Healing making squishy units gain more survivability by simply existing. Lucia Dawn:(the one in the short dress and pigtails) is great for lightning teams because she spams elemental Shock dmg so damn much which if paired with Stun cards and her high speed burst dmg can be devastating, her one drawback is her squishiness but if everything is dead what's the problem? Lee in general is referred to as "Fire God Lee" for good reason, he slaps, he's one of if not thee strongest ranged A-rank attacker units in the game currently for global. Vera Garnet is a Jack of all trades, she does everything and can be built to survive modes some Pure S ranks can't. Wanshi if Lee is the Fire God Wanshi is the Ice God of A-rank units pair him with a Ice Clam pet and welcome to the Tenth Ice Age. No.21 our adorable little wolf girl is probably one of the best dark tanks to be honest so out of the A-ranks I'd recommend those 7 You can gain 4* & 5* weapons from Co-op via points or as rng drops.(these are pretty easy to fuse and make stronger too) Doing Norton mode will get you points for creating pets so farm that whenever. There are ways to obtain Fragments pieces to upgrade or even unlock some units Interlude and Pain Cage Interlude offers 2 frags a day per A-rank, and Pain Cage offers Up to SS rank for Pure S rank units and unlimited fragments for A-ranks meaning it's possible to get all S ranks to SS and all A-ranks to sSs+ making them quite formidable even on HELL MODE it's just time consuming as fluff so patience is key.. Concerning Pain Cage aka Boss rush, I recommend getting all characters upgraded from 10 points required to 20 points and just repeat the process until fragments have been obtained, it takes longer yes but everything is being upgraded around the same time. I also recommend NOT spending the currency until the end of the month, that way you can power up spam your Construct heroes all at once. then just rinse and repeat, within a few months all of the available units would be at max or close to it. Also Practice with Dodge Timing and as long as you TRY in Paincage you'll get rewarded Warzone offers Cards. BEFORE equipping a Card though read the set bonuses either +2 or Set bonus of +4 and try equipping the card either on top or on bottom see which stat is higher the higher one takes priority on if it's a TOP or Bottom Row card. There is a No stamina boss trial mode which you can practice against bosses indefinitely to learn and cheese their attack patterns without worry. Doing the Chibi mode grants free stamina and gift rewards to boost character affection, which unlocks dialgue, side stories, and a bit more power. Hope this guide helps Tectone.

Alpha will be overpowered bt bianca Abystigma in about 4 months. I think Plume would be a blind pick, she is just soo good, quick and high burst, there is even Glory who is the banner right now (even though it's too late for new players and the only way to get him now would be spending some money), one of the most broken characters right now, infinite shields, good aoe and freeze the enemies, you dont even need a team if you have Glory.

For a whale sure it doesn't matter but it does for low spender or f2p. Most people will be on that range. Just be clear about it. You wanna mainly pick dps first before the support or tank because dps spend the most time on field

@@grumpysheep3710 the game is pve overall, but those two modes are the most competitive in that you have to have meta units and know the bosses' moves to be the top player. But you can get all the premium currencies in those modes very easily and with whoever you want to use

@@cjn8719 OK so I'm not really wrong then, yes I should've worded it better. But I don't know those modes well enough to okay them or have the meta characters for them. So I just don't really count them, I do acknowledge that they exist and that they are there, but like you said overall the game is PVE, in which I still believe there is no real meta for the PVE portion of content. Basically play character's you like and enjoy since it doesn't really matter, right?
