You'd be correct! I Googled the words 'dragon crown sword button' and this button was the first thing to pop up in the images search.

Thanks Greg for taking us along with you on your adventures. Funny thing, about a month ago you found a Dale Earnhardt #3 key chain that I have and today you found a little strike lighter. I have one too. That's to cool! Anywho, I'm starting a KZbin channel just waiting for ID verification. I have a few episodes all ready to upload. Hopefully one day it'll be almost as successful as your channel 🫡

I think it is really cool how even the most common items (keys etc) were ornate back around the turn of the century. Most things like that now are very utilitarian and mundane. Great video!

Been watch your videos for a year and love them all. I started detecting around 1982 and stopped in the mid 90's. Started back up again last year. I was wondering if you've kept all your finds over the years and how do you store them. have you considered doing a video showing your finds over the years?

The dragon piece looks very close to a Griffin. The back looks like iron staining on a copper patina or vice versa which hints at a two piece button or it capped something that used to fasten to something. If its not a medieval type of button it could he a company logo or trade mark like a dragon or griffin company logo or a seal? I think your jar might be a pickle jar or at least thats what we call them with the large mouths while doing bottle digs but it really couldve have anything in it from pickled tomatoes or peppers to possibly honey. I probably dont have to tell you from the early to mid 1900's just about everything was preserved in glass jars or canned. Chicago was practically the capital of vehetable and condiment jars. I find a ton (way to many) marked with duraglass on the bottom which may have evolved or merged with that company who know I'm by far no jar expert I shoot for the old beer or early soda bottles but usually have to dig through layers of those first depending on the age of the bottle dump. If its a privy theyre gonna be there lol. What gets me is that it seems like people just tossed them everywhere including their back yards???
