This was the season we were supposed to win the league. That Eduardo season ending injury really sucked the life out the players😞. I even remember the captain Gallas at Full time against Birmingham sitting down crying on the pitch

Every player seems to be friends with one another nowadays, gone are the days of proper rivalries. Now every player is Snapchat or insta friends, going on holiday with one another. I'm only mid 30s.

That's the problem with football in general mate. Today's players get their 150k a week and they don't care, after a loss they are all smiles and buddy buddy with their rivals. And these beautiful stadiums that are building, I hate them. I'd rather watch a premier league game in the Upton Park's mud than in the olympic stadium..and dont start me with Highbury. Bottom line is that big money is taking the essence out of the football.

It's still painful to watch games from this season. We really should've won the league in 2008. The Eduardo injury totally destroyed the team and we never recovered from it. We were top of the league and cruising with something like 8 or 9 games left when it happened and then proceeded to fall apart.

I still remember this season clearly like it was yesterday. We were top and should have won, 5 points ahead of United and then we drew 4 games then lost to Chelsea and then this game happened.

I clearly remember this game also at a relatives house. For me, i didnt have a TV before so this one was one of the rare matches i got to watch on TV. What an amazing comeback with 10 men, will never forget it. I was screaming with delight when Cesc got the deflected winner.

We should’ve won the league that year. And we should have won it in 2011 and 2016. We’ve had so many near misses in the last 10-12 years it’s heartbreaking when you think about where we are now. Wenger had built one heck of a team full of young players with no fear but for some strange reason dismantled it, Cesc, Hleb, Adebayor, Diaby, V Persie, Eboue, Clichy, Walcott guys who gave mostly gone on to have decent careers not everyone can be Messi but they were useful players

We fell short every year because of our inability to sign 1-2 players who could have helped the team go that extra mile. And instead of questioning the Board and the manager, we questioned players like cesc and van Persie who went off for greener pastures and found those greener pastures

I agree. But this season was not the case. We had 4 good strikers. Like a complete 2nd team. Then the Eduardo injury, 3 straight draws to average teams just killed us. Then we lost 2 games to our rivals, 4 points is hard to take.

Typical Bolton under the Walrus. They always played like their family had been kidnapped when we played them. I remember one bruising clash we lost and the next week they were 4-0 down to Manure within half an hour and hadn't put a tackle in. You can imagine SAF patting the Walrus's head: "Well done Sam lad, now run along."
