Hey I used to work for ORKIN pest control as an inspector when you build your home you need to prevent subterranean termite damage for your new construction as you are disturbing the soil of what is called a pretreatment or a “pretreat.” This involves saturating the soil with applied chemical termiticides before you build as termite colonies can spread far underground. When we built our home we did a pretreat with a termiticide and was given a certification of termite treatment. DIY treatments will only address surface-level issues and could leave your problem unresolved which will cause further damage to your home.

There are termites everywhere . Maybe not in the desert but everywhere else. Would touching the ground and water leaks encourage infestation.

We're gonna do it the old fashioned way - on a coat rack. You know the big stick with arms type that can be placed anywhere in the room you want it to be, with an umbrella holder at the base. 🤗

That won't be until upstairs insulation is completely done and we have ac in. We live in the basement below and cutting that hole will only make it harder for us to maintain temperature control down here until we are done with that

The stickers on windows try a heat gun sometimes it loosens them up just enough to pull off. Or fabric softener in a spray let soak a bit then scrap off.

Siding will be one of the LAST things we do. We're actually going to start working inside and will finish a LOT inside BEFORE we do any siding. Js so you don't "when" or "you should" us in the future. Not that you would.. I'm just sayin 😁😎💚

That tremite and white ants treatment works my Mum and Dads place had them as the next door had them then the moved they had it all sprayed under the house worked good not there so far 30yrs later so well worth doing

It would be another service fee since it's another structure (they do it per sqft) so we decided not to do it. But they installed these pucks in the ground all around this area, the treehouse should be good 💚

for a number of years ive been doing as bright, white, reflective color roofing as i can get and stand simply because it drastically lowers heat uptake in the summer. that translates into longer sheeting life and less air conditioning costs.. dark looks best.. but light is long term better.. just FYI

Mel and Gary, you know, there is a bug that looks like a ladybug, but it's not. I can't think of the name they call them, but it's not an actual ladybug that sounds to me like what you have, because you normally don't have that many actual ladybugs in one spot.
