That will help a lot with logs slipping around you could have use a piece of chain and it would have saved lots of welding wire but great work
@cecilsshadetreegarage740811 ай бұрын
Hello Tim, chain is too smooth and it won't grip frozen logs..this expanded metal has a sharp side to it. Cheers!

Hello my friend. Thank you for watching these videos..as you can see we have a pretty busy day here. Yesterday morning I replied to my comments, answered e mails. worked on these sleighs, went and got a load of logs..came in the house, spent 4 hours edited 2 videos, replied to more comments, uploaded these two videos...now this morning I had to get all of the metadata done on these videos, make two thumbnails...made them public, now replying to more comments lol. Now we are about to go back outside to do some more work. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!

@@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 do you guys have to have any building codes where you are I would think Canada would be really strict or is it because you're homesteading I think here we can't even use wood that hasn't been kiln dried and has a stamp on it for building outbuildings and stuff like that we canjust wondering
@cecilsshadetreegarage740811 ай бұрын
Hello Todd, Canada still has lots of areas that are considered unregulated. We pay our land taxes to the government of Ontario..so on this 80 acres we own we pay land,road and school taxes, in total this equals just under $60 CAD per month. We own our timber and mineral rights. we have zero restrictions on what we can do on our own property..providing we are not out right destroying the environment ( dumping large quantities of oil on the ground where it can leach into the water table ) In the towns and cities they have building codes such as you would. Now we don't have garbage pickup here, we have to supply our own water..we do have access to the electrical grid if we choose..but no gas pipes close. We are still a pretty free country.. we can camp on any government owned land for free..and we have a lot of that here with lots of fresh clean lakes to fish from. If we do camp in a trailer or RV.. we must move it a certain feet ( 30 ) I think every 3 weeks, this I maybe off..but it's something like this. Hope this helps. You have a great evening. Cheers!

I also forgot to mention that here we don't get taxed on any building unless it is secured down to a foundation. We can have an unlimited amount of buildings of any size on timbers/skids..but any building larger than I think it's 10'x10' on a concrete foundation is subject to a building tax..which is very minimal here, maybe $6.00 CAD per month. Cheers!

For 9 one foot diameter logs you get 3 and one third cubic yards of timber which is impressive given that some of the small log forwarders costing $150,000+ can only bring out 6-7 cubic yards 👍🇮🇪😜
