Great video, finally someone who explains this process and fills in all the blanks. Two questions if I may, the light you use, is that just regular AC work light that you clipped off the plug and and spliced wires so it works with a battery, and when those marks align is that top dead center or a bit before? I have replaced may stator on the machine so maybe my etch lines are out of sync now and if so how would I sync them again? I do have a piston height gage tool but don't know what to calibrate it too if not original stator. Ie tdc, 20 degrees before, etc. Thanks!

Do those lines indicate top dead center? on the mag cylinder? I am working on a 69 Sea Doo. I can not find a service manual so I am trying to translate this to my machine. Sea Doo uses Ski-Doo ignition parts, but I do not have the marks on the case to use as a reference.

Cecil : the easiest way to get a inner bearing race off is to put a little weld on it and slide it off before it cools , I've done many of them / both ways and I found that the weld on it works the best , Have a great day

Do you keep the oil injection system on the 1980 ski doo ? It is attached to end of the recoil,
@cecilsshadetreegarage7408
@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 6 ай бұрын
Hello Joe. The Ski doo Alpines of this year were never built with oil injection systems. But on machines where the oil injection pump is on the recoil I just remove the square plastic drive shaft then plug the oil line at the engine. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!

Hello James. Thanks...yup gasoline is not like it used to be :-( But the rubbers in the new primers are not as good as they used to be either..I've tried ethenol free gasoline and I had the same problem, I have also had primers right out of the package that has never seen gasoline yet that were cracked inside. Thanks again. You have a great day. Cheers!

Take the primer apart it is just a 8 cent o ring to replace and they work again
@cecilsshadetreegarage7408
@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 6 ай бұрын
Hello Bob..I wish that was all it is. When a primer starts pushing and pulling fuel out of the same line it is not the O ring. It's the valve inside, the rubber is starting to get hard and has probably cracked. Here's a video I made that will help you understand how these primers work..this will keep you from giving folks false advice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aISwipVqgtV4jtU Cheers!

Grindlux 4000 has a better sharpener sold by woodland mills which is fully automatic. I priced this sharpener and it was more expensive I told the company that if they matched the price I would buy this one. Since their canadian but all they wanted to do for me was 10% so I bought the Grindlux 4000 Looking back I am glad they didn't because the handle turning is a pain. I purchased a Dino setter which has a crank setter and started to get problems with my shoulder turning the respective motion. I have upgraded to a Cooks duel setter which is much better and more accurate as I sharpen as a business. As for Norwood they are purely a for profit company and their customer service is about a 2 out of 10. Lots of complaints with this company I own a lumber mate 2000 and I am going to refurbish it as it is a poor design. Do you set then sharpen or sharpen then set?

@cecilsshadetreegarage7408 6 ай бұрын
Hello..I agree with you 100% on Norwood. I wish I would have got a different sharpener. I do set my own blades..fortunately the mill I built spins fast enough that it does not blade wander much with dull blades. Thanks again. Cheers!

Interesting I picked up a couple older ones than this in carton place out side of ottawa Mine have the old hardwood cleats with the steel cabs real rare! I paid 500.00 for two I know they go for a good dollar restored. I have two engines but only be able to build one complete I plan to put a honda four stoke engine in the other one this way when My wife and I go out we will have one reliable one to get back home!

Hello, That's a great deal for sure..we used to replace the hardwood crosser with hockey sticks when we were younger..but if you don't install the little steel bars back on the hard wood crossers would break again. I guess you realize if you install a four stroke on those you'll have to put a higher set of sprockets on the drive..that little will be screaming to keep up with you. Thanks again. You have a great evening.

Few weeks ago I began using the propane blow torch, unlit of course, on a 20pull to start arctic cat 74 panther. It started right up 3 pulls, I use it almost daily now to check the mail because it now starts 2nd pull, no propane help needed. That idea I got from your comment section. ❤

I got a in-line filter from Canadian tire and with in 4 months the fuel melted the plastic filter and nearly set the truck on fire. It’s hard to fine good filters and fuel hose now.. it’s all turn to mush or solid and a rock..
