Hey, Jack. I tend to get chilled when I sit still. My solution is a warming brick. I set it very close to my wood stove to warm then I wrap it in an old towel. Makes an excellent reusable warmer. My grandmother did that when I would stay with her to warm up our sheets before bed. She used an old piece of cast iron.

I've used woodstoves for many years. I now appreciate stoves large enough to burn all night that are airtight and have an ash drawer so I don't have to let them burn out to remove the ashes.

What would really help out is put insulated skirting around the bottom of your rig. Keeps the cold air from whipping under and freezing the floor.

Add a small sauce pan with water to the top of your wood stove. Moist heat warms up your camper pretty quick then take it off to dry off the condensation.

In the meantime you could buy an insulating rv cover. There are some that have door cut outs, and you could cut out windows as well. It would keep your RV warmer and the roof from leaking. It does not take a lot to seal a roof on an RV. It would probably be cheaper to just repair your engine. Toyota RVs are worth a lot when they are in good condition, so buying a new one would be very expensive.

I just bought a digital laser thermometer…I didn’t get it until a few days ago. But probably a round 45 F….it goes up as the fire gets going. It can getup to an out 75 -80 when it’s that cold outside.
