'What a load of pig manure': Joyce and Fitzgibbon clash over Labor's climate target

Barnaby Joyce and Joel Fitzgibbon have clashed over Labor’s proposed net zero emissions target by 2050.
During an impromptu debate in the corridors of Parliament House on Monday, Mr Joyce ridiculed the Labor MP over his party’s plan to reach the controversial target.
Detailing the plan, Mr Fitzgibbon said “we’re going to reach out to these organisations including BP, Santos, other oil and gas companies and say ‘now you’ve made a commitment to zero net emissions, how can a Labor government work with you to help you meet your aspirations?’”
Mr Joyce responded, saying "what a load of rubbish, what an absolute load of pig manure”.
“He’s going to reach out to you, he’s going to reach out to the coal mines and say ‘don’t worry fellas, we’re reaching out to you and saying you’re going to lose your job’” he said.
“Reaching out, is that how you’re going to do it?”

Your hyped up outrage does nothing to intelligently engage in the subject. It is quite reasonable for Labor to accept the target of zero emissions by 50/50, and not at this time have the explicit method. They do not have the resources of the government, and the government have failed on a lot less difficult issues. It is 30 years before the target is to be met. Technology will change. Labor has accepted the challenge. The Coalition has not.

Ferfucksake how kooky and ridiculous is that for a suggestion. And what exactly does he propose they eat and what is his plan to stop them eating grass in the paddocks where they inhabit? What would be the effect on the products that dairy cows produced if they can't eat their natural food? Stupid, stupid comment and suggestion about something he knows nothing about. Let the farmers that provide us with food and earn the Government good money with our cattle exports make the call on what is best there.
