Regarding the rain at the end, it calls back to the chorus for MG1 and MG2 You might want to go back and check out MG1 and MG2 as several things are developed there and alluded to in MG3. This is art that can stand on its own, but is enhanced by having some additional context. There are a lot of Easter eggs.

Money Game 1 is the introduction.... to "The Money Game Trilogy" (only guitar backing) Money Game 2 is the explaination.... of "The Money Game Trilogy" (Hip Hip track) Money Game 3 is the ramification.... of "The Money Game Trilogy" (classical music backing) Note: "Money Game 2" is the Lyric video...there is also an acapella poetry slam video "labeled as official video" but that includes only the very last verse of the song...keep that in mind if you watch the other parts as well.

Yes that's Ren playing piano at the beginning! He also composed the music for piano and strings, apart from the opening couple of bars of course. He directed the video and produced the music/audio. It was recorded live but it's not quite one take. They had to make a single edit, during the wheelchair sequence, as the 'rain machine' was malfunctioning. Yet another incredible, masterful performance from Ren! Overall, an absolute masterpiece... again! :)

@@distanceismyplastercast What is it with you pedants? It's blatantly obvious that the opening bars aren't completely original, as they're based on an extremely famous piece of classical music. Even so, it differs significantly from Grieg's piece, as certain experts on classical music have pointed out. Even if it were exactly the same, most people would take it as read, when hearing that Ren composed the music for piano and strings, that this didn't include the opening couple of bars. Everything apart from that, ie 99% of the music, was composed by Ren and even those opening bars are an original take, rather than a straight copy.

I think the first Money Game is vital to understanding what he means by, "money game." The money game is a culture. It's invisible and ubiquitous when you're playing (and we are all playing). What he's trying to do is change minds by exposing the culture. If enough people open their eyes and change their minds, the game won't be played and we can create a new culture. It's a message of hope. Watch the first two. The first is another, powerful one-take. The second is a lyric video, exposing another way of recognizing the game.

I interpret the ending 4th wall breaking message to simply be that we must learn to not be greedy. People seem to connect him saying, "my solution?" and the potential end of the life of Jimmy as screen cuts to black as he's about to pull the trigger. I don't see it that way at all. In the 4th wall break he says, "our fate could be the same without this story to the wise", meaning we could end up where Jimmy is, regretting our life of greed which leads to spending a lot of time focusing on attaining a lot of wealth that you don't end up really caring about after a perspective shift later in life. The ending isn't a solution to the money game (I accept some view the end scene as a metaphor relating to the chorus of the money game part 1 + 2 though), just a story to the wise to see what can happen to those who try so hard to succeed in the money game.

Part 1 and 2 are also excellent, it’s not a continuation of stories like the tales so you can pick them up anything. The only thing you would have missed is that the melody of the chorus in 1 & 2 is played by the string quartet and the rain part of the chorus is represented by actual rain

A rapper from many years ago who in my opinion has held the crown of UK rap artists until Ren came along is "Silver Bullet" (aka Silvah Bullet). His rap called Undercover Anarchist was considered the fastestv vrap of the time, and the rap "20 seconds To Comply" sampled the movie 'Robocop'. Even today he is still legendary, though too unappreciated. Ren has taken rap from being accepted as an artistic form of music to it being pure art itself though.

It's ok to check part 3 before the others, each of the money game songs have kind of their own story and they don't follow each other, but part 3 was the best one for sure. Great reaction as always.
