So what exercises should we be doing to properly work the glutes through that end range? It seems most common glute exercises don't go past neutral.

Do some research on exercises that incorporate true hip extension into them. Unilateral hip extension using a cable machine is how I perform one; it's an isolated exercise.

Oh wow! Utterly intruiging! Clear and well delivered Greg. I'm a yoga teacher so on a real journey of examining the notion of stretching, which is why I found your video. Just fantastic, thank you. I can't access your website btw??

Injury is just another type of force or stressor on the body. But yes, MAT can help that as well.

How is this didfierent from Aaron Mattes' Active Isolated Strengthening or Fred Mitchells' Muscle Energy Technique (MET) (1942 b.t.w.). This is great stuff, but Its just using the principals of Autogenic Inhibition and Reciprocal Inhibition and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching & strengthening.

Yupp exactly. I've asked this same question at conferences too and the answer is usually "we get trained to do it better than people who don't know mat" or a variation of that. My biggest issues with it are that it's a bit of a cult mentality "this is all you will ever need" , "no other modality does this" and that they limit themselves so much by *only* caring about weak muscles. There isn't a holistic or comprehensive look at the issues.

It varies from person to person as each individual tends to receive a customized MAT treatment for their body and needs. Check out our testimonials to hear directly from clients.

In my experience it's usually minutes to hours before it "reverts" back for people who receive mat.
