Releasing an overactive psoas muscles requires appropriate sensory input, pelvic stability, and diaphragmatic breathing. More videos about this subject

Trying to isolate the psoas and release it through stretching doesn't make any sense to the brain. Postural Restoration Institute techniques do all of this as part of an overall program of body stabilization.

My PRI therapist sent me to an optometrist. The optometrist gave me these different colored glasses and some exercises to do at home to get my nervous system to calm down. The exercises is basically opening up my field of vision to include peripherals while wearing the glasses and looking out at distance. It's makes sense from a survival perspective how overworked our vision is being our dominate sense we use to ensure we survive.

Thank you sooo much for posting this comment!! I have double vision from misalignment in my eyes. I know it's muscular but I also forgot about this color vision therapy to trigger things in the brain!! I need to find a behavioral optometrist. I was in vision therapy and it did nothing. I am a massage therapist and I'm also in low light alot but grateful I'm not at a computer al day anymore. I know these glasses you're talking about and it makes me mad how they keep this a secret like they are special colors or something that do certain things on the brain to turn off or turn on certain functions like the nervous system which can affect the eye muscles!!

Hi my zhealth guy also did it with blue/red lenses... You can also achieve the same with bone conducter headphones.. He calibrated, for me, 300hz on the left ear, with a pulsing sound of 60 bpm.. Then I can use them everywhere.. The only catch for me at least, is I get sick, after around 15 minutes of wearing them in the beginning, and then I can more and more

Hello. I am writing through a translator. I am from Russia, I have been to many doctors with this problem. I also have TMJ dysfunction, my jaw clicks on the left side, I have constant pain in my left shoulder and my neck is straight. I think everything is almost as you told about yourself in one of the videos. Now I wear braces, in the future I will have a splint. I do exercises, PRI techniques, I will soon go to a physical therapy specialist. Not a single doctor has yet given me the knowledge that you voiced. No one can explain why this happened. As if this information has not yet reached us or is being ignored. I cannot find Russian-language information on this topic on the Internet or Russian-speaking specialists. It really upsets me and I feel like there is no “cure” for it and I will feel pain and be unhappy with how I look all the time. Your videos really help me figure things out on my own, reduce pain, uncertainty and learn English)).

Almost 12 months ago I made an expensive decision to find my right toe. It had turned inwards, I had lost 6 molars, had an overbite that moved to the left, my left eye was partially blind and I could not work as I could not stand. So, new teeth, cataract surgery, a loss of 22 kgs through intermittent fasting and a commitment to understanding PRI. The neurological element of breathing is where I'm at right now. Its been minor progress, all in the right direction. Thanks heaps again Neal, your dedication inspires me.

only 23 and chronic pain has taken over my life the past 2-3 years. Proud to say im at a point where i am almost out of the hole i thought i was stuck in forever and the information youre putting out there has played such a huge role in my recovery, so thank you! its crazy to me youre one of the only people out there giving this information. and to anyone in a similar position, this is vital!! few personal recomendations of things i did that chnaged the game for me: - i have left aic right bc pattern so my right side is extremely tight & overused. was having vision problems in right eye, whole right side face tightness, my temple was bulging out my forehead. right side of jaw, tongue, neck,shoulder, chest, all so tight. do eye circles!! i do them on my right eye since thats where tightness is. close left eye, try to engage right eye without engaging face muscles or left eye muscles (impossible at first but now i can) i would find the blurriest corner of my vision and just try very hard to 'open that area up' sounds weird but after some time trying i would actually have my vision expanded and cleared in that area. started seeing even more progress when i would simultaneously do tongue stretches and trry to hold my tongue out as CENTERED as possible while doing the eye circles, ill also pop/crack my right ear while doing this by pulling it down or out, best feeling ever. i even started wearing an eye patch on my left eye sometimes. ik they say it makes no difference as an adult to help with eye dominance issues. but what if the issue is functional rather than structural? all i know is that the amount of relief i felt after discovering the eye practices, especially with the jaw & tongue movements as well, made me cry with relief. it was a relief of physical tightness, but also so much more than that. the mental clarity i felt after was crazy. felt like i had just came out of being stuck in dissosciation, whole world felt different idek. ik your eye is apart of your brain so definitely think thats why. also realized the tightness in my vision made me change the way i would orient my whole body and the way i would stand and walk. i just recommend this information for anyone struggling it changed my life!

But because I was taking antibiotics for YEARS!!! my gut was demolished and my immune system at its worst. Candida, parasites you need to aggressively fight against. Wow. This information is incredible, and consistent with other ground breaking research. It shouldn't, but it absolutely floors me how interconnected the body is. Systems that I assume are separate are actually leaning on each other for proper function. Misalignment in one area travels throughout the entire body and creates symptoms somewhere else. Sharing this with my husband so he can better explain all of this to me. Thank you Neal!

You sir do really well at showing and explaining the wiring and connections. I now have more of a sense of understanding. While watching you do the testing before and after, a penny dropped. ENT. I can now see how it works and the trapped emotions which impact the body which cause stiffness, aches, pains and other physical ailments and conditions. Emotional and psychological stressors Impacts our bodies. Perception and Perspectives are a form of sensing. In a sense they are a 'sense 🤣' . all our senses and sensations impact the brain. Our whole body is a brain. Modern lifestyles keep the body stuck in various different loops of fight, flight, or freeze modes. We run from our Adrenalin fuel tanks that are already empty. Exhaustion. Chronic Fatigue. etc. Our bodies need to feel safe and relaxed. Not constantly on The GO and Doing. If the wiring goes one way, it also works in reverse. for example.... Say your sense of vision is blurry . It could be caused by your posture and tight muscle somewhere else that has led to the eyes not receiving their bloodflower and nutrients. (Food for Thought no?), or your liver is not functioning correctly, or you digestion is impacted because of posture or stress. A lot of digestive issue are due to posture and stress. Chronic conditions. The whole body becomes inflamed. Just Saying. The brain senses whatever it senses weather real or imagined. Whatever is "Perceived" and interpreted. Often a change of perception is more than enough to change the chemistry and the physical aspect of the body and it's physiological functions. It's not woo woo. Its a physiological Fact. Ps... What do you mean about the hint. You lost your Glutes?

But even just thinking about my molars and left heal has completely changed my life in the past few months. My anxiety has virtually disappeared because I'm able to find a self-soothing breath by changing my posture to find it, and accepting that I am asymmetrical. Simply kicking my left leg out as I'm working at my desk initiates a powerful deep breath. Something I discovered while grounding through my left buttocks. Most people think clinching theeth is only when you are nervous but it does a lot of sersory respawn for the side of the brain if you clinch the left molar you awake the nervous terminations of the same side of the brain because it’s the same nerve for teeth and brain. This is making sone sense. I walk for a living, and I often stop and realize that my left hip is leading, and I then readjust and my walk feels better. Though, for the longest time I realized I need to fire my left glute more. Mind you, I had my pubic symphysis out of place and causing SI joint dis-alignment. That stuff is corrected, but once that was better, I messed up the ankle on the opposite side of my right foot, and it’s taken two years to rehabilitate and I am still recovering but back to walking for my career. So, to throw in this mix, I have upper baby teeth still, so my top molars are more forward, and I am left eye dominant and right handed. After 9 years of my job, I decided to transition out of it, because I was in pain the entire time.

Thank you for this video, hopefully you or someone reading the comments can help with my question. I am a 61 year old male, I have been very fit my entire life, right up until my right side locked up on me seemingly overnight. It has been locked for one year this week (July of 2023 to July of 2024). Now it is difficult to do the usual exercise I had been doing for the past couple of years, similar to the t-shirt phrase, "Your workout is my warm-up". I can only do what I used to do for a warm-up before I experience pain in my low right back and right flank area. The muscles of my right lumbar spine are in a constant spasm, hard to the touch, all day, every day. This translates around my right hip / flank towards my umbilical area. The pain is so bad at times that the only thing I can do is lay on my back, and within 10 to 15 minutes, most of the pain is gone. However, as soon as I stand up, it is right back to where it started. How can I translate what is shown in this video to try to release my right Psoas / flank area?

Incredible knowledge in this video, thank you. I have been dealing with psoas / hip / diaphragm dysfunction for years now and have always approached it with stretching and breathwork. The heel - molar - vision connection is wild. I feel my body relax and am able to connect with my diaphragm and glute. Will have to play around with it more. Thank you! Where can I look / read more into this?

Just starting to watch this vid & trying to understand the concepts that you present. I may have a difficult road ahead. I suffer frim advanced TMJD with the TM joint on both sides seriously eroded & the discs no longer in place. In short, my jaw is dislocated. At this time I wear an orthotic 24-7 to hold my jaw in position & keep my airway open. Also, due to years of being incorrectly managed by health professionals, I broke many teeth from grinding at night. (If only medical & dental professionals have been trained to spot the problem that I was dealing with, I would have been saved the loss of several teeth &much pain grief & sorrow fir me & all my family.) I have one molar left on either side at the top of my mouth. The orthotic I wear is attached to my bottom tooth line. It covers the entire row of teeth on the bottom. I get a lot of muscle spasms in the occipital area, jaw, neck, & across and down my shoulders. Without administering relief by using massage & pressure points in the occipital area, I suffer from vertigo. I also have a lot of blurry vision. When the vertigo is really bad just lifting up my eyes or scanning around the room increases my instability. And so I'm beginning now to try to comprehend the connections between all of these things and hope for relief and help at last. Here's hoping and praying

I'm shocked, din't know any of this! I used to have astigmastation (had eyes lasered, not sure if I still have it), am missing the largest top left molar since 5 years, already had tons of problems due to an accident & hypermobility & then menopause. But now thinking I have this as well. At least I'm wiser now, thank you. Going to ask my osteopath if she's aware of this all.

for months now I've been saying I don't feel like my right and left side are the same people. I had breast cancer on the right little over 4 years ago, I just learned about this muscle from my chiropractor last week when I limped into his office. instant relief for a couple days but it's back. my right eye waters more than my left and all my limbs are numb when I sleep. I tried acupuncture a couple years ago but not sure I explained my issues then, I was mostly there for anxiety

This is really a great insight! I just accidentally came upon this video, and of course, have chronic pain issues, including psoas, quadratus lumborum, tilted and rotated pelvis, and severe lack of rom in my neck, so always looking for new information to help. My eyes don't work together due to strabismus, and when I was 13 on my 3rd eye surgery, my eye Dr. told me to pick a dominant eye, and since then, i mostly only use my right eye. Maybe i need to reconsider! The way my medical procedures have affected me is that if I use the left eye, my right eye visibly crosses, so I have purposefully avoided using it. I'm going to binge watch your entire channel! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Wow!! I stumbled upon this YT clip which I find extremely interesting. As a yoga teacher for many years i have always favoured the Psoas muscles. I have a scoliosis right side concave with slight right ASIS anterior torsion. The yoga has kept me “pain free” for many years but lately my diaphragm on right has been playing up. This happens only when I lie down. The discomfort takes my ‘breath away’ in the moment and then I’m ok. I’m working on it and now know to follow your helpful insights. Thank you!! From South Africa

I always clench up my psoas, diaphragm and molar area simultaneously. I can recognize it and relax it and if I can do it thoroughly my vision changes and is completely 20/10 clear for a little bit. The clenching does return however as a result of neurotic thinking patterns. I like my obsessive neurotic thinking, though, I believe it has helped me achieve a good amount of life goals 👍

Hey Neal, thank you for another thoroughly helpful video! I was wondering if you knew of any dentists in the Austin/San Antonio area that are familiar with the impact that a severely misaligned cranium and jaw can have on the rest of the body. I desperately need a stabilization splint made by someone who knows what they are doing.
@NealHallinan
@NealHallinan 8 ай бұрын
I don't know. There are many PRI providers in Texas, and the dentist that made me my splint is in Dallas (I did an interview with him a few months ago). You'll have to find a PRI provider from the PRI website that integrates with a dentist.

Wow, this is the closest video I found that describes my problems. Thank you for breaking it down! It's interesting how having the problem will make us obsessed with fixing it and informing others. How long did it take to get you out of the tilt lifestyle you were in? I am currently fixing mine with a sports PT: Eye doctors always thought the difference in my eyes was an odd problem, I've had teeth pain too. The root cause all came down to how I was breathing. Now I am working on all the layers past that to get out of this tilt I always find myself in.

I had surgery on both my feet as a teenager. I have terrible pain in my stomach and diaphragm and pain in the left side of my face to the point I had a molar removed and 2 capped. The dentist numbed some extra nerves in my face, and immediately the dizziness left me, my stomach settled, and my reflex stopped, and I slept so well for two days. And then, of course eventually it came back. I’ve also been able to find some relief with some pelvic floor therapy as well as pelvic floor massage. Lastly, I had a remarkable remission of the pain in my face and stomach balancing on my left leg until I fatigued. It felt like a total factory reset. I’m a former massage therapist and I’ve suspected that my hip flexors plus my feet are the culprit for all this pain I’m experiencing in my mouth and head and stomach.

I’m literally crying cause it’s been affecting me so badly that I’ve been dealing with so much anxiety and losing hope thinking my body is breaking down for whatever reason AND THIS VIDEO and your specialized work has just given me the first glimpse of what might be happening to me!! I literally only have one left molar left on my left bottom side and one crown/root canal on top which is the tooth that would be in front of the first top molar, smh. Been feeling like my whole body is twisted shoulder pain, elbow pain, hip pain only on the left side I’ve developed TMJ symptoms. My left side of my neck hurts the most and it must be from the fact I don’t have my left molars complete… WOW, I’m having such a eye opening moment rn!! What should I do?? Can getting dental implants on the left side to substitute for what’s missing help or does it have to be your real teeth/molars?? Please help me!! 😢

Hi Neal, hi everybody I had a very very very special PRI experience and I wonder if someone ever hear of something like this. At some point of my PRI program my brain started to leading me through various movements and muscle contractions (including very strange moments of my jaw, tongue and eyes) for about 5 months until now. The movements are not involuntary and not voluntary, something between of this. Like a very strong need. But I feel coming more and more on my left side and my pain and tension reduces every day. My guess is, that the pri techniques take away a certain stabilisatation in my body, and now my body has to go back to it's origin natural stabilisatation state. Did someone experienced something like that?
