Takes big balls to race on a wet track with slicks! Great video!!!
@Italiansupercarvideo10 ай бұрын
The Porsche didn't have slicks but wet tyres; with slicks, it would have ended up off the track at the first corner. In the video I filmed the car in the morning when the car arrived. Then it started raining, and they took out the correct set of tyres 👍

Fantastic Matteo! Turbos make everything more fun. My 85 750 turbobike was the 1st stock motorcycle to do a 10 second quarter mile time, wasn't matched until the 99 Hayabusa came out. The thing about a turbocharged machine is that you better have a clear trajectory before applying full throttle. It changes everything about the machine more than anything else can. I work on turbocharged aircraft too. The factory made ones kind of suck but aftermarket turbonormalized systems can really make an aircraft take several performance steps up. I worked on Piper Navajo many times including changing out both engines. The turbo on those engines is the largest I have ever seen. They aren't especially fast but are large and can carry a large load. They burn about 45 gallons of avgas an hour between the 2 engines but only flies at about 165mph. But you better have a clear runway before unleashing 350 hp × 2! Everything should have a turbo, I never look at an engine without planning for one, even though most will never get there.

Thank you for the information you gave me. I know you are an expert mechanic in the aeroplane sector, and I always read with pleasure what you have to tell me about your experiences at work 👍 Working on engines with big turbos must be fun. Flying on those planes is even more fun. This car has so much power generated by the turbos that it feels like a plane taking flight 😀💪

@@upsidedowndog1256 Exactly, he knows perfectly when it's time to hit the gas. Also, because the track is wet and the car is extremely powerful, it's no joke to drive this beast so fast.

5:55 - What a close call! Was the driver of the Ferrari not looking in his mirrors? Closing the door on the Porsche as if they are actually racing (though I guess they would be in different classes in a real endurance race, please correct me if I am mistaken). Kudos to the pilot of the RSR for avoiding a potentially very expensive collision! As always, fantastic video, brother. Thank you for consistently bringing us such great content! Greetings and good wishes for the new year from Kenya. 🤝 It is my dream to one day drive such a thunderous “land jet” in anger around a track as historic as Imola. 🤩

While I was editing the video, I watched the scene several times. As you can see, the Porsche comes into braking much faster than the Ferrari, which is mainly on the right. The Ferrari driver suddenly closed the corner while the Porsche was already inside. The driver of the Porsche had excellent reflexes and prevented the cars from colliding. Why did all this happen? I have no idea; at minute 7:00, the Ferrari lets the Porsche pass. This video was filmed during a test day, not a race; this situation is strange. The Porsche is technically a car from another category as if it were a GT2, but it is even better because this model is built specifically for maximum performance. Therefore, it is also much more powerful than a Porsche 997 RSR in GT3 configuration. This car was not made by Porsche but by a German team called RS Tuning. The vehicle is, in fact, powerful, much more than a current GT3. I also filmed a second video when the track was completely dry, and the car was so fast that it had no significant problems passing all the cars on the track. I will upload this video later in the year. I always find it interesting that people worldwide watch my videos from countries far from Italy-many greetings 🖐

Is that the turbo dumping when he’s letting off the go fast pedal?
@Italiansupercarvideo10 ай бұрын
When the car is running you hear two sounds, while the engine is accelerating you hear the whistle of the 2 turbos that are working. When the driver takes his foot off the accelerator, the Pop-Off valve opens to release the pressure created in the intake manifold. The pop-off valve is located between the turbine and the intake manifold.

The RSR is mid engine i believe?
@Italiansupercarvideo10 ай бұрын
This is not an official car developed by Porsceh but a different project built by the German company RS Tuning. The starting point is a 997 model, which has been enlarged with an RSR aesthetic kit. However, the engine remains cantilevered in the rear area like other Porsches; it is not in a central position. You can see the engine well in this video here. I filmed it on the Misano circuit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ_JZIGthdZnmrcsi=Q7bL7RDkk2KeNnY7 Go to Minute 8:08
