This is actually kind of interesting. I'm a nurse in the ED at a level 1 trauma that's a teaching hospital as well. I see every kind of student in the ED all the time. Most of the med students are super helpful and even offer to help us. It's really nice to have an extra pair of hands!

I don't stress myself with trying to be frugal and basically treat it like Monopoly money. Finances are one thing a lot of us don't want to worry about while we're in med school so I know many of us use it all up lol

Crystal Hilton I'm an MS-3 and now I laugh every time I watch Grey's anatomy lol. Things like doctors wheeling around patients, 6 surgeons working on one surgery at a time, surgeons running CT scans and MRIs (instead of a tech), and there are plenty times where a super easy diagnosis that even a medical student could make is made into a huge deal. I watched like 7 seasons of grey's before I started med school and then restarted the show again after being in med school for a bit. It's crazy how differently you see things even after a couple years of med school.

Wow, the same as med school in Italy. I'm at last year (6th) and me and my colleagues never scrub in, we can just observe from a corner of the OR (and often surgeons neither explain us the procedures). Never learned how to put stitches, I barely made venous samples (not an EGA of course), but hey, we have 8 hours of lessons per day when teachers read slides all the time and we learn really well how to hold up walls during internships ;)
