The guy with the Supra is my customer. He was ready to sell that car less than 6 months ago because he couldn't get it to 100ft without it making stupid moves to the wall so he brought it to me for a complete 4 link plotting and set up. So i'm stoked for him but good to see you getting the wagon figured out too as we have an old mutual customer with Will Stevenson. Might be best to switch your trans fittings to steel from aluminum. That 500 deg rapid temp swing might be what caused it to get loose. Aluminum grows way faster than steel so it would be more prone to issues.
@stevet647 Жыл бұрын
Another option is draw a paint line on these fittings and a matching line on the trans then check to see if it moved.
@AB-80X Жыл бұрын
If possible, titanium is an even better choice. We use that on my GT3 car where ever we can as not only is it light, it moves a lot less than both steel and aluminium. When we check everything from exhaust header bolts to high temp hose fittings, to wheel center lock nuts, titanium is always super consistent. For this reason AF Corse also assembles our transmissions using Ti fasteners whenever possible.

[65 cc,~39.5 c.i. /rotor] turbocharged reaching 1800wHP -> 1800-200 lbs. -> 6.5 -> 6.2-.3 sec ET, 210-25 MPH 1/4 mile !! -> the quickest 4 cylinder at World Cup 2022 also achieves 6.4-.5 sec ET 1/4 mile ! ->the Red Supra from Ryan Sammut Racing, achieves 2200 wHP, obviously with a 2JZ engine, 3.0 L, 2.36 sec, ET, 223 MPH 1/4 at that Import vs Domestic event at US 131. Did Clark and Kyle not run this event? This is a real interesting journey you are on here. In small aircraft, there is a lot of engine vibration, so important fittings are wirelocked. As commented below, the fittings are very likely to come loose at those temps. Just the rapid heating of the aluminum fitting could cause it to come loose. Also I would look into the temp ratings on the hose you are using. I’m not aware of any common hose rated for temps of 600 let alone 900. It would be catastrophic to have a hose fail at the big end, could be a BIG fire let alone oiling the tires.

Pressure lines try to straighten themselves out as pressure rises, this can loosen fittings. Also, if there is a bunch of weight hanging off a fitting , it can unscrew it. Also, I've long pushed for having a cover over the transmission for this very reason. 600* oil is going to result on come pretty bad burns.
