I have been a commercial food equipment technician for over 25 years. I own a black stone griddle and it's great for home use and does cook good for the avarage home owner. I would say this unit would be for the persone who wants the absolute best griddle experiance who is a chef/cook and wants to use a griddle at home with similar results. The way you check the temp/calibrate this unit is using a griddle puck and meter that you can buy off Amazon. Make sure the griddle is level that will help with heat being even across the cooking surface.

Glad to see you reviewing this gem!! I have had my 30in for about 5 months now and I LOVE IT!!!!! Advice---I start out on low and stay on low unless I am cooking a steak because this griddle gets very hot even when kept on low. This is because of the patented cast iron plate under the stainless steel top. Tip. When you are finished cooking and after you scraped the food off you can pour down a bowl of ice (yes, it's safe per LeGriddle) and I got the red scour pads from Amazon and a long handled scour pad holder from a separate company and this makes clean up a breeze.

Finally somebody else has a stainless griddle! I hope you keep using it so I can pick up a lot of tips. I've had a Motak stainless griddle myself for the past 3 years and it's been tough finding anybody else that cooks on one, as there are several differences in cooking on it compared to something like a Blackstone due to difference surface materials and thickness. The biggest issue I have is managing the temp, cause when that 3/4" steel top (entire unit weights 275 pounds) gets to going really good, it can be either a blessing or a curse.

That looks like an awesome griddle! Whenever I could afford something like that I would love to have it in my arsenal. The cleanup looks nice and easy. I used to do short order stuff back in the day and that's all we'd clean it with is water and scraper. I'm also not a fan of mayo on toasted bread. Butter gives much better flavor. Toasting is about the same from when I tried it. Those burgers look awesome! Excellent maillard reaction. Such a great review video Neal!!

I own a LeGriddle and I would have to say I think it is a real trade-off for the stainless vs. being able to use an IR gun. I tried by an IR Thermo gun with adjustable emmissivity coefficient hoping that would help adjust for the stainless vs. cast iron surface reflectivity. Others claim success with that, but I found it very inconsistent. Overall happy with the griddle, but one word of advice for those using NG vs. Propane....unlikde many gas grills, the LeGriddle does not come with an inbuilt pressure regulator. For me this was absolutely neccessary as without it, even low settings were reaching 400. The PR valve I got was a Blackstone, so I am guessing the same is true for those, but don't know that for certain as I don't own one. Anyway, great to see a video featuring what I have....surprisingly few videos with that brand.

I’m interested in this griddle for my outdoor kitchen and appreciate this information. Is this PR valve an absolute necessity with Natural Gas? Do you have a link to it?
@Flippa18567 күн бұрын
@@bonusround5583 in my opinion it is neccessary. It will vary by your gas line pressure I suppose. W/o my Le Griddle was 450-500 degrees on the lowest burner settings. Post installation of the PR valve I can regulate the temp much better. I don't ahve a link. I think the store I bought the griddle from said it was a Blackstone part? It was not expensive.

I love the idea of this grill! I wish it had been available when I built my outdoor kitchen because I might have gone with it over the Evo. Regarding cleaning as you go, hell yes. At my dad's DQ, between burgers, we would scrape the spot and have it ready for the next burger. This predates smash burgers by decades, and we only used pre-pressed 1/4 pound patties. Funny enough, it also predates bacon burgers! The bread test exposed what I believed might be the case when you were unboxing the unit. The top should be 3/4 to 1" stainless slab, or if the manufacturer wanted to get extra fancy, they could clad a few layers of aluminum inside. But it's got to be thick to be even corner to corner. Great review. I hope Le Griddle sees this comment and will consider releasing a "Pro" clad model. Nice work team Amy and Neal!
