The BIGGEST mistakes we humans do in religion is that we listen to human readers that translates to us the way THEY want us to believe and NOT the way the religion was made for us to believe.

When holy men of God write or speak by the power of the Holy Ghost, their words “shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation” (Doctrine and Covenants 68:4). The official, canonized scriptures of the Church, often called the standard works, are the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. The principal purpose of scriptures is to testify of Christ and to guide the children of God so they can come unto Him and receive eternal life (see John 5:39; 20:31; 1 Nephi 6:4; Mosiah 13:33-35). The Book of Mormon prophet Mormon taught: “Whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked- “And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out” (Helaman 3:29-30). God, who is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” (2 Nephi 29:9), continues to reveal scripture in modern times as He did in ancient times. Latter-day prophets counsel people everywhere to study the scriptures daily, including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. They encourage individual and family scripture study. They encourage us, as Nephi encouraged his brethren, to liken the scriptures to ourselves, finding ways that the sacred accounts of old apply in our lives today (see 1 Nephi 19:23-24). They exhort us to “search the scriptures” (John 5:39) and “feast upon the words of Christ” (2 Nephi 32:3). Daily, meaningful scripture study helps individuals be receptive to the guidance of the Holy Ghost. It builds faith, fortifies against temptation, enlightens, and helps individuals draw near to our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son. The Bible The Bible is divided into two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is a sacred record of God’s dealings with His covenant people in the Holy Land. It includes the teachings of such prophets as Moses, Joshua, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel. The New Testament records the birth, mortal ministry, and Atonement of the Savior. It concludes with the ministry of the Savior’s disciples. Because the Bible has been translated many times, it is printed in different versions. In English, the King James Version of the Bible is accepted as scripture by the Church. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we revere the Bible and its sacred teachings. We can receive strength, comfort, and guidance from the biblical accounts of God’s dealings with His people. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ The Book of Mormon came forth in this dispensation by the will of the Lord. It is a record of God’s dealings with the people who lived in the ancient Americas. Prophets of the Lord engraved the original records on gold plates. The Lord declared that the Book of Mormon contains “the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ” (Doctrine and Covenants 20:9; see also Doctrine and Covenants 42:12). On September 22, 1827, an angel named Moroni-the last Book of Mormon prophet-delivered these records to the Prophet Joseph Smith. By the gift and power of God, the Prophet Joseph translated the record into English. Since then, the Book of Mormon has been translated into many other languages. The primary purpose of the Book of Mormon is to convince all people “that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations” (title page of the Book of Mormon). It teaches that all people “must come unto him, or they cannot be saved” (1 Nephi 13:40). Joseph Smith said that the Book of Mormon is “the keystone of our religion, and a man [will] get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book” (introduction to the Book of Mormon). The Book of Mormon is another witness for the truths taught in the Bible. It also restores “plain and precious” truths that have been lost from the Bible through errors in translation or “taken away” in attempts to “pervert the right ways of the Lord” (see 1 Nephi 13:24-27, 38-41). The Bible and the Book of Mormon “shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace” (2 Nephi 3:12). Near the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Moroni teaches us how we can know the book is true: “When ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost” (Moroni 10:4; see also Moroni 10:3 and Moroni 10:5). The Doctrine and Covenants The Doctrine and Covenants contains revelations given to the Prophet Joseph Smith. It also includes a few revelations given to other latter-day prophets following Joseph Smith. This book of scripture is unique because it is not a translation of ancient documents. It is a collection of revelations given by the Lord to His chosen prophets in the latter days. The Prophet Joseph Smith said that the Doctrine and Covenants is “the foundation of the Church in these last days, and a benefit to the world, showing that the keys of the mysteries of the kingdom of our Savior are again entrusted to man” (section heading for Doctrine and Covenants 70). The Pearl of Great Price The Pearl of Great Price contains the book of Moses, the book of Abraham, the Prophet Joseph Smith’s inspired translation of Matthew chapter 24, and some writings of the Prophet Joseph. The book of Moses is a small excerpt from Joseph Smith’s inspired translation of the Bible. It is a more complete record of Moses’s writings at the beginning of the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. It contains many doctrines and teachings that were lost from the Bible and gives additional information about the plan of salvation, the creation of the earth, and the Lord’s dealings with Adam and Enoch. The book of Abraham is a translation of ancient records written on papyrus that came into the possession of the Church in 1835. The Prophet Joseph Smith translated the records by revelation. This book contains truths about the premortal Council in Heaven, the creation of the earth, the nature of God, and the priesthood. Joseph Smith-Matthew is an excerpt (Matthew 24) from Joseph Smith’s inspired revision of the Bible and adds to our knowledge of the Savior’s teachings about His Second Coming. The writings of Joseph Smith in the Pearl of Great Price include: Joseph Smith-History, which is an excerpt from the Prophet’s history of the Church. It is a narrative of the events leading to the restoration of the Church, including the First Vision, the visits of Moroni to the Prophet Joseph, the obtaining of the gold plates, and the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood. The Articles of Faith, which the Prophet Joseph Smith wrote as basic statements of belief and doctrine.

@Cait B What cult? And really the main problem now in the church (if that's what you mean) is that a lot of the people at the head of it are just there to make money and so when a person comes to them with questions they don't have the answer. It's not that they tell them not to question things. You should question things because you should constantly be seeking that solid unbreakable bond with Christ but I've seen from personal experience that if it does break then you probably had your doubts from the beginning and weren't ever a true believer.
@johnwitek48914 жыл бұрын
@Cait B Also, that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. So this guy was just an average dude and then his country gets invaded by the romans so he flees to an island to write a BOOK!? If he thought the world was ending then who's gonna read the book!?? It's funny how you take your own knowledge, mix it with some non-christian's junk, and call it better research then all other experts who said the exact opposite. He wasn't stupid, the world wasn't ending just because the romans invaded. Did everyone just start writing books of the Bible when France got invaded by Germany? SO basically you may have done research but not research by believers so obviously they're going to find some way to change it so that the Bible doesn't make sense. It's like wanting to find out how to be a pilot and asking sea captain. Ridiculous.

The books we have now in the Bible were there thanks to the Council of Nicaea. A political gathering, not a religious conclave. They are the ones who mess up with the Bible. If not so ( assuming that those books stripped from Bible were post 1st century) .What about the book of Enoch?
@PeterLaman2 жыл бұрын
This is sheer nonsense! The Council of Nicea was about Arianism, the teaching that denied the Divine nature of Christ. The teaching was rightly refuted. The canon of scripture was not on the agenda. Also, it was not political. Yes, the council was an initiative of Constantine, because he didn't want disunity in the church. But Constantine did not take part in the deliberations, which he left to the bishops. The bishops made up their minds and held on to the original belief in the Divine nature of Christ. Also, consider the fact that Constantine was the first emperor after the early centuries of persecution of the church. All those bishops at the council had proven to stand strong during persecution. They had learned to follow Christ and not the wants of the emperor. It makes no sense that at Nicea they'd suddenly bowed their heads to politics and gave in to the emperor. They didn't. All of the council has been reported. The reports are clear. Unfortunately there's a lot of nonsense about that council on the internet, which is only there to undermine the Christian faith.

The Calendar is March to February, 31 days every 3 months. 30 days all other months completing a 364 day cycle, with 18 hour cycles completing a day. If you draw a clock based on the hours given it cycles 1-9 twice. 369 are positioned precisely. To confirm I drew the clock correctly the Lord led me to the Vortex. The Vortex is time

My problem is. Is this.. we need to take a pause for a moment and really ask ourselves this question.. how many of us really take the time to actually read the scriptures? I mean the entire book itself.. ok the other questions will come in a moment i just have a thought here.. if we take the time to think.. i mean really think.. especially in chronicles Corinthians there are other books im sure but.. in the current books. Theres books that mention other books that are not in the current book today.. for instance book of gad the book of the seer other books. Too.. theres just a laundry list of books mentioned in scripture.. truth there are 2 words not mentioned in scripture. Holly bible and trinity. . We have 3 books it talks about the holly scriptures or the term scripture itself apostle jesus disciple 3 only mentioned this term Catholic church invented holly bible and trinity in Rome.... Vatican itself centuries ago its true i looked up the history.. there's so many versions of the world.. kjv American standard and so on.. but theres only one version here we gotta be specific here and that is gods version his word . In the book of revelations it talks about removing and adding books. The question is whether or not what book is actually true in in the apocryphal or not. Theres so many books yet to be discovered. The original book was written in Hebrew similar to Arabic language we still don't know. But there are so many carbon dated issues still . We as men can't judge others in believing what is or what is not word.. just because it is not in the current books doesn't mean it is not word we were no there in that time frame we dont know what or who is or not or how many people were from different cultures or not . Remember in scripture it does mention different tribes but it does talk about irealites egypt and other cultures too lets not forget that. All we have now today is we tend to forget all this if u read the book closely and paid really close attention u would know all this. My final question is this.. if we were true believers of christ and God himself have u ever wondered why our church leaders actually don't read certain books in scriptures during our mass why thy skip around a lot more than usual... yes they talk about certain things that they want to talj about for a specific subject as a lesson.. bur theres a lot more than they thought they are not telling us all.. until one day i decided to do an investigation and come to a conclusion.. missing books they would read a chapter a whole chapter sometimes 3 or 4 than they skip certain ones as if they were less important. Ive notice this from several pastors i couldn't believe it until i decided to talk to someone about it and showed him . Hes gone to the same church for years but didn't know there were books missing until i showed him i couldn't believe his eyes than he shared it other people and the same reaction I got from him from other people. . That certain books were mentioned in scripture were missing .. image that i did my good dead . Keep this in mind penny for your thoughts good luck

It doesn't matter how relevent it is. I think you're missing the point. They were rejected more becuase they weren't the original copied text and rather errors or other books that weren't meant to be a part of the bible. Other authors had their own thoughts and accounts and stories to share but they didn't make them for the bible. Thomas just so happens to be less of a valid arguement and those others are people who had the same opinion as in the bible or similar stories. It's all about whether it was inspired by God. God gave the iinformation and the way to write the information to his appointed authors but he didn't prevent anybody else from just coming up with their own book. If I lived at the time and decided to write a book about Allah it doesn't mean that it should be even considered. I could write about a Guy who said He was the Son of God but it wouldn't be added. Most of these texts were MEANT to be foolproof but weren't. Sometimes they would be just mistakes or false information that was discarded. Some of the ones used today that are false even had a note in the margin saying it was invalid to avoid confusion but that didn't stop some people.

The book of Moses is a small excerpt from Joseph Smith’s inspired translation of the Bible. It is a more complete record of Moses’s writings at the beginning of the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. All Christians accept the same New Testament (though Luther did seriously consider removing some books). I’ve found no good counter-argument to the Catholic canon, especially given the lack of any sort of authoritative body which would even have the God-ordained ability to determine canon and the fact that the Protestant canon was not used until well after the Protestant Revolt/Reformation. This was a major reason for my reversion to Catholicism. I hated the Catholic Church but was forced to admit its Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, in part because of this issue. Believe me, I looked long and hard for a defense of the Protestant canon. I was not an impartial researcher. I was a Protestant one. Luckily though, reading the Protestant canon-since it’s the shortest and every Christian accepts at least that-guarantees that you are reading Scripture, so I urge you to keep reading it, and pray always for Truth with an open heart and mind to God’s direction. May Christ’s Peace rest on you, J

@@jmjaquinas7298 Thanks, Jesse, I appreciate the reply. I actually meant to ask about their claim that they are who constituted the canon because it was them, not because the Bible's inherent authority was not dependent upon them to make it such. It is essentially the same argument they make to justify any and all their errant doctrines: :We are the Church and, thus, what we say it right, no matter if it lacks biblical foundation." I was raised and remained an RC until I was over 20. In that time I do not recall ever being taught anything about biblical authority for anything. Everything was right because of the ipse dixit of the church. Thus you end up with all the Mariolotry wherein people are banking of their salvation for faithfully wearing a scapular until the day of their death: Mary promised they will enter into Heaven on the Saturday after they die. One cannot challenge such a not biblical because the Bible is not the ultimate authority. There are going to be many people shocked on Judgement Day when they find their faith in Mary and the scapular are misplaced.

Well you would be wrong, brother, the book of Enoch should be in the bible, and I can prove it!!! You see I prayed and prayed to the Most High, to show me the true truth, not what somebody told me, and HE DID, and that's why I say the book of Enoch should be in the Bible, that's why they took it out, because they were afraid it might open your eyes to lies that they have been feeding us, that's how I know that you don't know the truth, and that you are just saying what somebody else said because it sounds good, without ever really knowing the truth, you should be ashamed of yourself, Jesus said, Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee: thou shall be NO priest to me.

And the N/T is engineered to abolish the Constitution Written in Heaven! JeZeus abolished the Law and gave 3 "gold"en rules: 1. Obey the laws of the Hittites to the letter (Romans-cana'an 13) 2. Love the Lord Ba'al with all your heart but NOT your Heavenly Father (as Americans have dozens of "founding" Fathers!). 3. Love the Ba'al priests, sodomites and pedophiles as your neighbor. When in doubt, say: "JeZeus" and all will be well!

Even if I agreed with you did you know that the average lifespan was 45-50 at this time? Jesus at 33 would have been considered a senior. Mark (the first of the gospels ever written) was written 40 years after Jesus death and there is good argument to conclude that none of the gospels are written by the authors we accept.

@@Nofilter1976 You just debunked your arguement. First: If it was 45-50 then then you're saying the bible written by the people who were actually alive at the time are wrong becuase YOU, a pathetic human from the 2000s like the rest of us, say that they were wrong. I would like to know what quarrel you have with missing books if you believe some of the most important books of the bible is false. I'd say it just proves that there are no missing books if people who are not people of God say that there are missing books. What better way to confuse christians who aren't educated enough to know otherwise and lead them away from Christ? Also ,if I may, don't bother spending days looking for good sources on those lifespans. I won't believe them, just like you they were probably written by people who don't believe in the bible anyway. I mean gosh dang it if you don't believe the bible then don't argue about things in the bible that you believe didn't happen anyway!!
@johnwitek48914 жыл бұрын
@@Nofilter1976 Any way you look at it there's going to be a seemingly absurd way that the world came to be and the universe with it. So if we can all be here (either by a god or by some scientific accident) then why couldn't there be people who lived longer? Why couldn't someone live in a whale(it wasn't even confirmed to be a whale) for days? Why couldn't- well the devil was talking in the form of a serpent that had legs it wasn't just a snake but anyway why not? You say it is just crazy, nothing more need be said but what do YOU believe happened then? If God didn't create the world then how else would all these perfectly engineered beings, galaxies, worlds, microorganisms and whatnot come to be as they are? Why am I asking? Because if God does exist then everything in the bible has no reason not to be true. Also as far as the topic of how we came to be here humans DON'T use logic that's the problem, the very idea of all of us being here without beginning or being created is crazy! So why do we pursue the answer? Because we are here. We are living proof that something or someone made us and everything. But nothing and nobody we know of can do such a thing. So crazy answers must be found. And here we are with the bible which has many prophecies, stories, events, and such that have been proven to have happened. You want logic? I've give you logic. The matter is that we are all here. The question is how did we all come to be here? Either we were made by accident some scientific way (the big bang) or somebody made us. Both seem crazy ideas. But we have solid evidence that we are here. Now, we look at the first probability, something exploded us into being. Well then we must answer another question: what made that thing? and that keeps going on and on. We also know that the chances of all this being exploded into being are so extreme you can barely even calculate it. It is proven to be a illogical proposition. Now, if somebody made us, they would have to be a powerful person indeed. Or powerful people. Or whatever you like to think. This means that they would be classified as gods or a god. You and many people are sure that gods don't exist. So you would like to discard both these ideas and say that we most not have come into being. However, we cannot because it would also not be logical to say that we just have always been here. This means we are forced back to these two ideas. The first was proven impossible and the second proven to be too fictional. But we have proven that we exist so we must go with the second idea. We must assume that there is a god. It seems crazy but given the evidence and until further notice it has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. But what kind of eternal being it is? We must figure that out. We choose the bible's account because it mades complete sense... what's that? it doesn't? Well, I think you mean it DIDN'T. You see, we have proven that there must be a god so given that there is a god then everything else in the bible makes perfect sense(we said before that the bible is the best account of how the world begin and many events in it have been proven to have happened) as a all-knowing all-powerful God can do and create and cause whatever he wants since he is the ultimate authority over right and wrong, reality and fiction etc. Now that you have had your lesson in logic, please tell me what you believe because although you say that you don't believe in the God of the bible you might still believe in a different god or you may like the random explosion or you may have something else entirely so please tell me, what do YOU believe?
