What About Us (P!NK) Cover - Amber Mackenzie

I am doing a challenge on my channel called the ABSing Challenge. I am choosing an artist whose name starts with the letter I am on and then sing a song written and/ or sung by them.
For the letter P, I chose to cover the song "What About Us,'" written by and performed by P!NK.
P!NK is one of my all-time favorite artists. Not only is her voice amazing, but she has rewritten what is means to be a female pop artist in the public eye. In a speech that P!NK gave when she received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 VMA's (I encourage you to watch the KZbin video. Her speech is amazing), she explained that her daughter had told her that she thought that she "was the ugliest girl she knows." P!NK then went home and made a PowerPoint presentation for Willow (her daughter) that had pictures of all the rockstars that have made an impact in the past few decades (Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin, Elton John, David Bowie, etc). When the PowerPoint was over, she asked Willow, "Why do you feel like you are ugly?" Willow replied, "Well, I look like a boy." P!NK then replied, "What do you think I look like?" Willow said, "You are Beautiful!" P!NK replied, "Well, thanks! But, when people make fun of me, that's what they use. They say I look like a boy, or I'm too masculine, or I have too many opinions, my body is too strong... and I said to her, 'Do you see me growing out my hair? Do you see me changing my body? Do you see me changing how I present myself to the world?'" Willow replied, "No, Mama." P!NK then said, "Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world?" Willow responded, "Yes, Mama." Finally, P!NK said, "Okay! So, we don't change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty."
P!NK has lit the way so that more artists can truly be themselves and make the music that they want to make. She truly inspires me as an artist and as a woman. I am so glad that we are on this planet at the same time!
