When you homeschool high school, the thought of your student being behind is very scary. What if you ruin their chances to get into college? Or whatever else they want to do? Watch this video (and read the related blog post at www.annieandeve...) to rid yourself of this fear once and for all!

This was so helpful, i just turned 15 and I've been homeschooled my whole life, and I'm so overwhelmed because I've been slacking for around 4 years (personal reasons) and everythings been back to normal for my family for a couple years but I've been struggling with getting back on track because im so used to this bad schedule, and I've been stressing so much because I'm three grades behind and not completely sure how to catch up in time so i can graduate at 18. Your blog and videos has been so helpful, thank you!

Thank you Annie, for bringing up this topic. We are beginning High School this year. I've been overwhelmed with the high expectations I have placed on my own shoulders. Finding your video was a blessing to me, I know Jesus is the one who lead me to you. You're video was very informative, encouraging, and practical. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for this. I have a graduate who's now attending college and had no problems homeschooling. I'm now homeschooling my soon to be 11th grader and he's always struggled academically. This takes a huge load off my shoulders.

Thank you for this!!! Everyone tells me that my 7th grader isn’t behind and that I should take that out of my vocabulary. But the reality is his dyslexia and dysgraphia have placed him very behind 7th grade curriculum. I’m meeting him where he is now (we’re working on multiplication and reading fluently on a 4th grade level after completing dyslexia training) but in 1 year he’s supposed to be gaining high school credit. He’s no where near that! He very much just needs to work through the curriculum to ensure there are no gaps in his math and that he’s prepared. We will keep on keeping on and design our own path with him. Thank you for this!

This was VERY encouraging! I have a child entering 8th grade next year and high school suddenly seems very close. With the thought of that comes college, career....and you can guess how I'm feeling! This took the stress level down. Thank you for investing the time in this video.

Thank you for this encouragement. My youngest will be a "senior" this Fall, and she will be moving from Missouri to Michigan to live with me. She recently told me the courses she has "left" to be able to graduate (her stepmom - ok, well, a computer - has been homeschooling her past few years. I homeschooled her when she was younger.). I saw that list and I was thinking, wait, you are actually done. These are fluff courses. So really, if she wants to, she can start going to the community college here THIS year. But, I didn't know what the "requirements" for homeschool graduates was, so I have been doing quite a bit of research, which led me here. And like you said, there are no requirements. Except for what a college may require, IF the child wishes to attend. And even then, no big deal. I have been confused and blown away by this gap of information regarding the credits a homeschooler needs in order to graduate. So I had to come to the conclusion on my own of everything you have just said. But this video confirmed my thoughts, so again, thank you!

USA is the only country that keeps the children about 3 or 4 years longer in school. I always asked my self why? The system is so broken and the children are just not getting a real good education. It's sad but true. I am thankful for the very very few good teachers that stay in that system.

This was a great video with great advice. My situation and question would be what if you pulled your child out of public ( up to 7th grade ) when they’ve been going their whole life, then started really homeschooling on your own - no online school- now it’s end of 8th, they are “ behind” according to public school state standards, so let’s say , I did not return him to public 9th grade this upcoming fall semester, which is the start of high school, if I put him back in at any time, the school does NOT have to count ( even with their own testing ) him at his “ grade level “ so if by 11th homeschool is not working at all, then he could be placed with kid’s below his grade level and for self esteem reasons which matter GREATLY for my son, could impact his education experience A TON- especially if he saw all his peers that he has known for years in a grade above him, it’s very possible that would be a terrible hit to his self esteem. So getting accredited may matter depending on the child as we can never see the future.
