A'ja Wilson of course...a winner in college and the pros...still the best in the league 2024...not manufactured but real quality player
@MickeyMouse-ul8zl2 ай бұрын
The only manufactured 'star' I've seen this year is Angel Reece. She's a great post player, but watching other players stand back so she could break Candace Parker's double double record makes her feat illegitimate. Parker set her record battling others under the boards. AR was given her record until others tired of the farce and put a stop to it.

Why almost all of their 1st picks got very succesfull in their careers, while in the nba many 1st picks were busts
@IrfanhillАй бұрын
It's interesting how it seems there were no #1 bust in the WNBA, and most of the time the #1 pick was indeed the best player of her draft. It might be explained by several factors: longer stays at university, fewer international players, smaller field to select from, "smaller world" overall in women's basketball. In the meantime, in the NBA, despite it becoming better at drafting since the 2010s I would say, at least half the drafts have seen the #1 pick not being the best player (2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018. I would put 2011 and 2015 as debatable. I would put 2019-2024 as too soon to call, even though 2023 is clear and 2022 and 2020 seem to have seen the right pick go at #1 too)

One thing I noticed in all (excluding covid years) was a lot of empty seats when the camera accidentally panned out away from the court. Something rarely seen this year. Some of these players aged well and some didn't. Ms Stewart looks like she's been hanging out in a crack house while A'ja Wilson still looks fresh. How about you do one on the top ten each year for the last 5 years and introduce us to more of the current crop of players. The last time I kept up was Candace Parker's rookie season until Caitlin Clark Kent came out of the phone booth four years ago.

I decided to do a recap of old WNBA games compared to now and all i can say is the game was the game back then, they took a hit got back up and kept going and hyping each other even when on opposing sides. But now someone gets hit and some baseball fans start screaming racism but stay silent when other players get hit. And funny thing they did not need a crowd to keep the game going they did it for the love of it and the fans who came were there for the game and not based of media hype or political dog whistles, they actually spoke out loud for women's sports.
