the points which this dalal left out:- 1. Britannia's head office shifted to Bangalore long back, a simple Google search will confirm this... the registered office is still in Kolkata but I don't think any decisions r taken here nowadays.. 2. There has been NO confirmation from the company on any fresh investments... the company announced it will make fresh investments around 2018 but has not invested a single paisa yet... while this closure is confirmed, rohit as usual is trying to pass off old news as fresh news ... no news reports has quoted any Britannia official who has confirmed any investments.. 3. mumbai and Chennai receives prestigious investments from numerous companies.. so their population is not as dependent on few companies for their image building...

Being a Bong it's not my intention or I realize your feelings like me not to defame our own state. But basically, I am shocked and common people of the state as well after hearing this news The Reason and reality are in the past, we saw since independence, a very steady decline in economy of WB and whereas many national and multinational companies with their HQs once were situated in Kolkata and factories or production plan located in W.B. - had shifted their businesses from this state to Mumbai e.g. SBI, L&T, Birla Group, No modern and contemporary highly sophisticated industries have their presence or set up in Bengal viz, Automobiles, Aviation & Aircraft Manufacturing, Railway Coaches of modern types, Nuclear Power, Solar Power, Semi-Conductor based Industries, Once a state which topped over all other states across the country has now seen one of the lowest GDP per capita in the country and poor infrastructure, health and education sector, and HDI is one of the lowest in the country Although we have immense talents. good skilled labors and attitudes than any other state that's why still our people can get a good job nationwide and globally. Today it is the sixth largest economy, even states like U.P. & Karnataka have left behind These are very unfortunate to see. How long the people of Bengal need to wait to see its state has come back in the top list of Indian states like in the previous era. I personally wish our state would regain its past glory asap. Also request you Rohit to make a comparison video of total amount of investments amongst Indian states

Logically speaking if any company wants to shift operation to a different location in the same country or same state, it DOES NOT offer VRS to all employees. First option is for relocation to existing employees , employees leave if they are unwilling. As per you, new location is in the same state and city .... so your logic sounds weird

The way u tried to save Britannia, it seems the company is less bothered than you. If the company is shifting their establishment as per you, then why did they sack their employees and also paid compensation? Why did Britannia not relocate their employees in their newer factory? Can u please find these answers? Morover, they have shutdown the factory with an abrupt notice which doesn't have any explanation which u are trying to provide.

As always the establishment in Bengal with all its digital proxies are trying to brush the issue under the carpet . They don't have any explanation about why Britannia issued VRS abruptly for all its employees. Not even a single employee has been transferred or planned to be transferred to a new setup . Simply because they are packing their bags out of the state . You will see an apartment project in that area soon with the help of local Councillor,MLA , MP .

You know Britannia has opened New Greenfield Biscuits Manufacturing Factory in Rampur , Assam in 22 Acres worth 170 Cr in 2018 . The New Assam Plant has an annual production of 70,000 Tonnes . He is hiding the real fact Why Britannia opted for Assam instead of WB for New Factory which it was trying to build in WB since 2016 but couldn't. Another thing Britannia has opened 4 New Mega Factories in India in last 6 years and 1 new in Tamil Nadu this year . Assam , Maharashtra , Bihar , Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu (U/c) . They have built their state-of -art R&D Centre along with manufacturing factory in Bengaluru in 2016 . It houses Nutritionists, Food Technologists , Scientists & chefs . It has sensory , analytical & microbiology lab there . The Britannia management is trying to give their Taratala land back to Calcutta Port Trust . They have packed their bags out of the state . Not even a single brick was laid for any other new Factory in Bengal .

Britannia has opened 5 New Mega Food Factories in Nearby states in last 6 years and they are moving out of Bengal . They opened R&D in Mumbai in 1970 They withdrawn themselves from Calcutta Stock exchange in 2010 They opened state-of-art R&D Facility in Bengaluru along with new manufacturing factory in 2016 They started their new Dairy Business in the country by making a Dairy Plant in Pune (2021-22) They are investing for Capacity expansion in Odisha ,Khorda plant . Their management are trying to give back the Taratala land back to Port trust . They are opening one more New Plant in Tamil Nadu ,Tirunelveli worth 350 Cr this year 2024 . Rohit, very bad news for our critics: Britannia has not closed their taratala factory, it was a temporary suspension to carry out the VRS process for their permanent employees. Post the exit of the employees on Monday, they produced 1200tonnes of good day biscuits on Tuesday from their taratala factory. It is all open and will run the factory till they set up their new biggest one in Panagarh and the 2nd planned investment is in Salboni. Moreover, they will have to exit someday from taratala as port lands are very costly and such marginal products cannot be long produced from there. This is the logic in their economies of scale Very bad news!!!!

Britannia Taratala factory will be used as Godown/warehouse No one wants to defame Kolkata but understand the frustration of the people of Kolkata dude. There has been minimal efforts and minimum manufacturing unit coming to West Bengal - govt should have shown its efforts in the budget atleast - which is again something which is disappointing

If it's bad news for Kolkata, I believe it's bad news for Mumbai and Chennai as well. They are shutting down their operations in those regions as well. Britannia is shifting its focus to shutting down older, less efficient factories near city & establishing modern facilities with higher production capacities. BIL is already operational in Dankuni, WB.The land belongs to port where Britannia currently is.

Each state has its own advantages and disadvantages, but the people here spread negativity more effectively than effective productive knowledge transfer. Just consider the latest data on state-wise inflation. Maharashtra is performing at 3.66% and West Bengal is performing at 3.68%, whereas India's inflation rate is close to 5%. This explains how economic growth is channeled. My intention is to convey that it's not just about good or bad, sometimes you have to accept both.

Ch ina with all negative opinions , stereoty pes , rac is t slurs has never been affected because of its excellence in Execution , Logistic infrastructure, Skill Training & Incentives . No amount of Marketing helps when you don't work on foundation that will help industries to grow . FYI - Bengal never marketed itself at the time of British Occupation . It had everything required for a Financial industrial hub at that time .
