Have you ever wondered what actually happened when you "threw your back out", what causes all the pain, and why it came on so suddenly?
Dr. Bockmann explains the many possible causes of low back pain, why the most common one is so easy to fix, and what causes all the shooting pain you feel when you injure your lumbar spine.

Stretching the quads and hamstrings daily can help and strengthening your core will go a long way toward easing muscle cramping too. Good to know that back injury most times is your muscles going into protective mode. Thanks for the insight.

Not sure you are checking comments on this vid still, but I'm 38 and just threw out my back for the second time in my life, lifting a heavy object with poor posture. When the "injury" happened, I felt a mechanical shift a split second before the pain came on. I'm sure this is not what happened, but it felt like two of my vertebrae collapsed onto each other. What could this sensation actually be? Because most of the pain I'm feeling now is muscle spasms. I'm in no pain when I lie immobile in certain positions.

i threw put my back. Turns put it was my QL muscle left side. Its probs fucked up from something else like posture/arthritis/overuse/ i skateboarded very hard for years and now play agressive tennis, but lots of PT and muscle relaxers helped. took many months. like 3-4 months. I took the muscle relaxers immediately after some prescription it didn't help. So I stopped taking them. Then one day due to severe pain I tried them again about a month later and it magically worked I woke up the next day and it was like the flip of a switch and I felt better. Here I am almost a year later dealing with the same pain But I have been slipping on exercise and stretching and eating correctly. A year ago in the prime peak pain I even gave up nine years of veganism out of desperation and started eating meat again to see if meat protein would help the muscles strengthen and subsequently eliminate the pain. But it was that one muscle relaxer episode that cured me for a full year now that I know what to do I'm going to hopefully recover but message me if you have any questions. it could be other things like your sacroiliac joint or you're so there are so many things in our core and back that could go wrong

So what is your best bet if this happens 3 or 4 X a month and have sharp pains in my SI joint afterwards? Also seems like my back after it goes out and heals that it's only a day or two that its fine before I go threw it all over again. Like it never fully heals
