Thank you for this interesting video! I have an additional question for you. What’s the difference between N1 and Nr? I know that Nr is the shorthand for the rotational RPM of the rotor blades. But what does N1 stand for? Maybe you could explain it easily. Thanks!

Is there a overhead device in the cockpit? If yes what is it for?

What do you mean by 'Overhead Device'? If you are talking about a HUD (Heads Up Display) the answer is no. I don't know of a single helicopter fitted with a HUD.

She saw a video online, of a tourist on a Helo ride, messing with something on the (overhead) in the cockpit. The pilot was not happy and kept pushing her hand away. So I was looking at airplane videos and Helicopter videos and asked this question. Thank you much for your time :)

The machine that you used to make this video, does it have the Arriel, or the LTS 101?

Good eye. That machine is running the Honeywell LTS101. We have 2 in the fleet and the rest run Arriel’s.

What are those knobs around the gauges?

The things that look like knobs are actually bulbs for illuminating the gauges when the daylight starts to fade. Very useful for first light takeoffs and when the sun i starting to set in the evening. Good eyes!!

why don't you install a VEMD

Its an older B2 and the cost to install a VEMD and all the associated wiring and electronics to tell you the exact same information is not worth the huge cost. Most of our Astars have the VEMD but our two older ones do not.

Hello sir I have cleared all my Civil aviation exams and am planning on flying from the U.S. any suggestion of flying clubs you trained in ...am thinking of a school with as350 so it's easy to get job in india there's a lot of them here too...I'd love to get your suggestions if you have any THANK YOU SO MUCH 🫂

Hey Nixon. I trained at what is now the Hillsboro Aero Academy in Portland Oregon. They also can train international students and have a great history. Not many schools have an Astar as its an expensive machine to train on im sure you can find a school that will have one for you to do your turbine training on once you have all your pilot certificates. Unless you are very wealthy do not do all your training on the Astar!

@@PilotTeacher oh yes Hillsboro is good but they only have like a r22 feet however my plan was to initially do like all or most training in r22 or a cabri g2 and get endorsed in that and do like 10 hrs in an acft used day-to-day and get endorsed in it but thank you so much for the quick reply another reason why the channel name when you thought about it you meant to really be a pilot teacher I really appreciate it sir . its a bush rocket rocket. Most bush rockets don’t have any IFR gauges. Compass is all you need.
