Hell ya, where did I hear this before? Seems so familiar listening to Lamonts solo stuff. All of these great hooks, melodies, chord progression, and arrangements.

An enigmatic piece to many, as he compares cocaine abuse to the wiles of a treacherous woman. Deep, haunting and so on point.

Damn, funny and ironic enough I was listening to this song prior to dating my 2nd girlfriend early at the time. I could definetly relate to this song. Boy, she was a pretty yet “wicked girl” yet I still love her crazy ass STILL. Addicting yet dangerous love.

Got you. I just took it as another interpretation from what I was going through at the time. I’m aware that it’s about cocaine.

Long time fave (his best along with "Cried Out") and was my go to vinyl play when life wasn't romantically rosey - and then the internet came along and wised me up about its lyrical intentions ! But I still see my original perspective as strongly as ever ;) And Joe Sample's piano is just the cherry atop. RIP the Black Bach - musical genious.

It sounds like something Damon Albarn would have wrote for the Gorillaz. This song definitely has that vibe
