Great vid Mia! Easy piece of non-swing advice: 1) Positive self talk lol. You played within your abilities and highs and lows are going to happen and part of the game 2) It’s easy to pull the ball left in the rough because the rough grabs the heel of your clubface and closes it through impact. I always aim a little more right when I’m in the rough to account for that

I always appreciate your PMA, just the type of person you want to play around of golf with, it takes time & you don’t want to be afraid of trying different swings, clubs & approaches, everyone is different, keep swinging 🙌

Mia, remember what Gary Player said: "The more I practice, the luckier I get ." Your "luck" is actually improvement, and please don't be so hard on yourself, you're doing great and working hard while still having fun. You do well for managing expectations for your overall round, and I think it'd help if you did the same for each hole, e.g. your putting didn't suck at all, it's just hard to make many 1-putts when you're over 20 feet away usually 😂😂. If you have a lesson on partial wedge shots and practice those shots more, I think it'd really take your game to the next level too; you already have some feel for the partial shots with your approach wedge, so I think you'd pick it up quickly, maybe Pete or Rick have some time soon haha. Keep your head up and keep improving, your channel is always so fun and energetic!

@@miaellax Looking good! Ball striking looks great (with a few exceptions of course). Not sure how you're reading your greens, but I really like Rick's method of feeling it with your feet (straddle the line, feel which way you're leaning and how much). I think improving your green reading and your mid-range chips would shave off those 7 or 8 strokes you were hoping for. For how new you are, that score is nothing short of amazing!

This was a very enjoyable video. Certainly you didn't play as well as you would have liked, but you scrambled quite well and kept remarkably upbeat about your round, even your poor shots. Your enthusiasm for the game and your sparkling personality makes watching this a complete joy. Thank you for posting this. I will play my first (nine-hole, par 29 course) round in 23 years in a couple of weeks. I sincerely hope I handle my round as cheerfully as you did yours. I am very nervous about getting back on the course again. Please wish me luck. ;)

Don’t give yourself a hard time Mia. You are hitting your driver and 7 wood very well, you just need to sharpen your wedges into the green up a bit. I was reading Harvey Pennick Little Red Book the other day and he said something about laying club on your thighs to give yourself an accurate indication of where your aiming, it’s something I have found useful as reference point when l hitting long shots into the green. Finally your no gimmes rule has definitely stood you in good stead as you never looked like missing a short putt. Onward and upward Mia.
@markrudd917 Жыл бұрын
Mia! You have a lovely golf swing and you are improving all the time, but you have to take more consideration of your surroundings. For example, on the ninth you commented that you never go right, but thats where you went! If you look back you’ll see the ball was below your feet at set up. It’s always going to go right in that scenario. You probably don’t need lessons for your swing at the moment, but get your pro out on the course to give you tips on course management. There’s a single figure golfer in there Mia. She just needs to learn how to cut out the bad decision making. I watched until the end! Because you’re worth it!!!
@malone77 Жыл бұрын
Great video, really enjoyable and I love how it's not too serious. It looks as if the swing, just at a glance , is all upper body first. Hence the pulls and push cuts, pending face angle. Have you looked into zen golf mechanics ( now known as grf golf)? Could be something to look into to work on your sequencing.

You played well!! You're putting is better than mine. I almost 4 putted today after being on the green in regulation. The 4 foot and in putts are my nemesis. You're so much straighter off the tee than I am. Our mountain course is very tight, one fairway only 10 paces wide with no room to the right and a huge hill on the left of the fairway.

Even with all the positive comments below you are probably feeling "If I only had played better!" Look at it from the other side. Let's say you shot 4 under par for the 18 holes. My first feeling would be boring. Yet another good golfer that puts me to shame. Or to put it another way, we relate. The fact that you are intent on pushing through the challenges of golf make me feel I can too. So it's not about your golf game that makes your videos outstanding it's about your attitude! Loved it.

Very good score despite the poor start; +6 for the last 12 holes is really good - much better than you give yourself credit for. By my estimation you are likely somewhere between a 10 & 12 handicap which is better than the vast majority of golfers. Well done, Cheers from Texas!
