Sooo, Chrissy's scenes... It's body image issues, specifically brought on by her mother's verbal jabs. If you want to call it psychological abuse, I wouldn't argue. That's her trauma, hence the bulimia reference in the bathroom scene. I'm guessing the dad's mouth is sealed shut because he doesn't speak up or say anything to stop it. He lets it happen. The writing isn't overt with the hints, which I actually enjoy. I prefer when the audience is treated like they can think and not be told.

after the post credits scene of S3, the majority of the fandom (myself included) got that Hopper was alive and didn't take no for an answer, so the show-runners actually revealed it in a teaser for S4

they got me shipping chrissy and eddie just to kill her off OOF their chemistry was so good
@TheRulesLawyerRPG4 ай бұрын
I forget where I read or saw it, but the Duffers didn't realize how much chemistry the actors would have onscreen until they shot that scene at the park. And they said they immediately regretted their plan to kill her off. (At least so early) But yeah, they had great chemistry!
@cobrian454 ай бұрын
@TheRulesLawyerRPG , that's correct. I think they'd actually already filmed Chrissy's scene at the end of the episode, so it was in the can, not just an idea to change. Sad, since they could have tore our hearts out even more, 😂.

The Hellfire Clubs were a group of exclusive clubs for the rich in Britain and Ireland in the 18th century, rumors about them were that they were clubs for doing immoral or socially abnormal things. Believe the name has been used since then a few times for various other clubs that were considered to be socially abnormal at the time, like comic books or D&D. So that is where the name of their D&D group comes from

Same. This season is going to ruin her.
@TheRepublican7774 ай бұрын
I think Max didn't realize that she cared about Billy until she realized that in his last moments he cared enough about her and all the kids by saving them dying in the process she understood he was hurting like her but he had been going through it for way longer and going through abuse by his dad and abandonment by his mother so he handled his anger and hurt differently and after the move really took his anger out on her, but even he cared but didn't realize it himself either and she wishes they could have just communicated and got along like a real brother and sister would.

The climax of the entire campaign! I totally understood as well.
@CassxowaryАй бұрын
why? I don’t understand that part…
@sharkbait711Ай бұрын
@Cassxowary because it's usually pretty hard to schedule a date and time that works for everyone in the party. 😂 Especially for larger groups. Plus, the DM puts in a lot of time and effort to plan sessions. So it sucks when sessions get canceled or moved😭
@elkins4406Ай бұрын
@@Cassxowary In addition to everything that sharkbait711 said, a role-playing game is also a type of storytelling. Imagine, say, watching a TV show where everything's been leading up to the big climactic finale. There's all this tension, all these subplots and running motifs, all building up to the big climax...and then at the very last minute, you have to reschedule it. Furthermore, it's spring break next week, so you won't be able to schedule it for next week either. So maybe in three weeks? Let's hope you can manage to get everyone together then, because if not it might even be a whole month before the grand finale. It weakens the story you've been telling together to have it delayed that long. By the time a month has passed, a lot of the tension may well all gone. Maybe some people will have to be reminded of a few details after all that time, nobody's really hyped up anymore in the same way... It's like having the final episode of a really tense mini-series delayed over and over again, and never knowing when it's finally actually going to air -- except in this case, you're not only the audience, but also one of the writers and one of the actors. It just breaks the flow, and by doing so, saps a lot of the energy out of the whole thing.

Yes you will notice a lot of references to Freddy Krueger throughout this season

Angela is a sickening character in this season! I'm glad you picked up on her hypocrisy - the way she praises Helen Keller and her work, just to look good for her teachers; and then makes life hell for others who are not on her spectrum of 'normal'! People like her (and they do exist in real life) are way worse than most fantasy villains or monsters!

chrissy had an ED (eating disorder) she wasn’t throwing up because she was pregnant and the fact all of you except one (don’t trust hannah) automatically assumed that means you missed/misunderstood all the other evidence of that later on too… calling her a fat pig, tightening her cheer uniform, etc…

I don't know if there are OTHER 80s references, but Hellfire Club was a horror novel in the 80s by Peter Straub. He was the only horror author I loved more than Stephen King. I feel like Max lost not only Billy and comfort, but also Eleven and Lucas. She's alone.

If you payed attention you hear that Clock when Billy get Flayed by the mind flayer in the unsidown and when Will first gets taken in season 1
@adgato754 ай бұрын
I don't recall that. Did they edit it in later ? I know they do that
@TheRepublican7774 ай бұрын
@@adgato75 no you can hear it, go back when Billy is in the upside down trying to call 911 and he gets automatically put into the upside down and all those people start walking towards him and one of them is a copy of himself, you can hear the clock chime. And when you hear it with Will, it's when he is on the bike and the light goes out on his little bike and he sees what looks like the demogorgon and falls over on his bike you hear a small clock chime in the background but it's blended into the music that you nobody catches it right away until you go back
@adgato754 ай бұрын
@@TheRepublican777 Ehhhhhh. But what i'm asking is did they add it later. They have made edits to add or subtract things. Afterwards. Like cutting down the scene of Johnathan spying on Nancy.

@@adgato75 well I re-watched it on Netflix and heard it so I don't know if Netflix went back and edited it how would I even know that it's nothing I caught right away either until I went back to listen the only one I do remember is Billy's I remember hearing that one in real time when I watched season 3 but I did not notice the clock chime when will got taken until later I went back so I don't know if that one was edited or not but I do remember hearing it in season 3 when Billy got flayed

billy definitely had a tragic life, but I think we should still acknowledge that he was a violent, rage filled bully and racist, an abusive father and saving El don't change any of that.

It should also be acknowledged that there's a six or seven month time jump between seasons 2 and 3 and the kids aren't scared of him anymore until after they realise he's been posessed 🤷

He was still an asshole in season 3 too, in the beginning of the one episode were he comes out to life guard he literally calls out to an overweight kid, "Hey lard ass no running" you don't say something like that to kids even if he was breaking a rule, and he also was about to go out with a married woman like excuse me don't do that, and don't get me wrong I blame Mikes mom too.

Season 3 is my favorite season, and then season 1, but i do think that season 4 is probably the strongest in terms of overall storyline because the plot is just getting bigger and bigger and the stakes are higher. its the darkest season yet. IMO the premiere was very slow and one of the weaker ST episodes, but it did set up a lot of good stuff for season 4.
