After watching 10 documentaries on the Franklin expedition, I wonder what role the canned food played in their demise , 1850 technology I'm sure was not good , and must have played a role to some degree , they have found a lot of lead in the perished bodies , the cans they were eating from were sealed with led . I'm sure the shelf life of the food they had was not very long , those poor souls and what they endured
