The amobea perspective is quite interesting! I wrote a collage-like novella mostly about alchemy and because of this, I planned it to be symbolic and have some contrast to classical hero's journey (or houses of cards?) because knowledges like alchemy needs patience and effort for alchemists so for reader too. Now there's an arch and adventure for my main characters but things are highly blurry and symbolic. I'm sure it won't be published as a single novella on its own (if I don't grow an audience & sell it on my own) but I'm somewhat ok with it, I feel the book is harmonized with itself. I don't have a favorite amobea book but I think most of the religious books are working in that way, and I love looking them for inspiration. There are many hero's journeys but all journeys are mostly superficially connected and not obligatory for the progress of the book, so they're creating something like an ecosystem and give audience to create new connections between this pieces of the collection. (I hope I understand right your perspective on amobea books. Also your videos are great, thanks for sharing ^_^)
