You can go to any Football(Soccer) games in germany the athmosphere is always great. The Alianz Arena in Munich is one of the greatest Stadium in Germany.

I wonder if they have different rules about serving drinks, most US stadiums stop serving during the 3rd quarter so people aren’t blasted when they drive home. Since Germany has better public transit, that might not be as much of a problem

@@YETICOPTER It depends on the stadium. The League voted, back in 2020 i think, against the prohibiton of alcohol beeing served in stadiums. But the stadium/ home team that is playing there can still decide themselves if they want to serve any alcohol (mainly beer). At some "high-risk" games they sometimes opt to not serve alcohol.

@@YETICOPTER In Germany (I only knew it from soccer matches) you can buy all drinks, even an hour after the game ends. Beer is the main drink sold, but you can also buy many other things. So, many fans will leave the seats half an hour after the match ended an celebrate inside the stadium even longer. In my hometown, we have a handball club where we serve/drink up to 3 or 4 hours after the match ends... So, it's normal in Germany that a "trip to a stadium" isn't only watch a match. We more celebrating the whole day. We come hours before Kick Off to drink a beer together and stay late to drink a beer together... It's totally normal that the "Deutsche Bahn" will provide extra trains for the fans.

Dude, I was stationed in Erlangen in the 90s!!! Really loved it there. Foreigners know about Oktoberfest, but Erlangen had its Bergkirchweih Festival (soldiers called it the Strawberry Fest), and it was totally amazing! Such a nice small city with the university- lots of interesting people to meet in the pubs. Ferris Barracks was well situated for Joe to get into town on foot or a cheap taxi ride. Loved my time there!

It’s common. We always sing the anthem of our club before the game starts. Often the game will start before we are done singing but you shouldn’t stop singing your anthem just because the music stopped. Lovely to see that they did the same thing here

American Football - never seen?! Football is pretty common in Europe, sure there are way more popular sports but it's definitely not like we have never seen a Game or nobody had played it personally. We have the ELF (European League of Football) in Europe and many countries have own Leagues like the GFL (German Football League) in Germany - with 6 sub leagues and over 70000 registered members. And some years ago there was the World League, later NFL Europe with a very high attendance rate.

It would take some reformulating of playoff formats (and I couldn’t tell you how it would be accomplished beyond expanding more than 4 teams, but whatever the formula I am all for it. Clearly there are sections of the world who love American Football. They’ve been quasi pushing expansion for a long time, but it would take a huge splash to make it work.

It's an American song that many people in Germany know, it was American Football with NFL teams from America ... and surely (almost) nobody in Germany cares about which exact federal state of the US is mentioned in the lyrics of the song. (I think it's actually rather good that the song doesn't mention one of the participating team's US state ... thereby being neutral between these teams. It wasn't meant to support one team vs. the other, therefore it seems appropriate that it doesn't have a connection to one of the teams)

Football is already quite popular here in Germany. Many people love to watch the games with friends on a weekend and more and more amateur sports teams offer either flag football or American football in their programs. :)

I can’t wait for another game in Munich; i got my ticket 2 days before the event; it costs me alot but I was so happy to got one; it was just awesome; I won’t ever forget that; Americans and Germans are a great fit; the day will come and I will see my Packers at Lambeau Field 🙈😉 hope Rodgers won’t retire to soon
