If you're a little handy, you can simply head on over to the Warmoth site and fully customize just about any Fender style instrument. ( They are actually licensed by Fender actually ). I've made myself a few Strats and Tele's as well and they are so good I've actually sold my 2 American made Fenders I owned previously. It also makes for a very cool project and if you know how to paint it becomes even more of a bargain. I finished all of mine in nitrocellulose lacquer as well, they look just as nice as they sound 🤟

I was happily surprised to see that offset tele. I own that exact model and it's my #1 guitar right now. I preferred the tones coming from the squier and American vintage II though. But I love the feel of the offset tele and the tones from it aren't bad at all, but I like the warmer sounding tones. Typing this as I watch the video and I gotta say that squier sounds amazing and definitely sounds better than the Mexican tele. And it sounds to me a lot like the American vintage. I was thinking about getting an American vintage but now I'm thinking about getting a squier classic vibe.

The Mexican made Vintera sounds as closer to a 50s Telecaster than all of them , the tone is rounder and fuller to my ears. I have a 53 and the Mex sounds almost as good. Thamks for your demo.

I hate to be picky, but a Butterscotch Squier Classic Vibe would have been a better choice to go up against the Vintage II. The Butterscotch has alnico V pickups and the Blonde has alnico III.

I don’t think Fender needs to be embarrassed. Trying to make money off them with this video is the embarrassment. Fender is a great product. Sure they have issues like a lot of brands. If you don’t like them find a brand you do like. PRS makes guitars with 5x difference in price. And as far as playability and sound there isn’t 5x difference. People buy what they want. I love Fender and their “S” & “T” bodies sure have been copied a lot to add to their “embarrassment “.

The Japanese sounded too straty for my taste, the vintera lacked a bit of power maybe because of the vintage inspired pick ups? To me, the favourites were the CV and the american vintage 2. The eternal question between squiers and fenders...is Fender is better, but how much difference? I don't like the 7.5 radius either.. so the answer for me is easy and ... cheap! By the way, really great review, nice sound, production.. quality content. I like the way you change guitars within the same track...so that the comparison is really straight forward. Keep it on!

I have 7 Squiers CV (5 China and 2 from Indonesia) and...i go to buy more in the future, i have a Fender Telecaster Brent Mason and is so great but...the Squiers face against Fender very well... I love Indonesia made and China made by equal, great construction and tone!

Excellent review. I have been trying to choose between Fender telecasters and also found the narrow radius fretboards and u-shaped necks of the vintage models to be quite unforgiving. Though I was tempted to buy the Vintage American II 1951 (because of the rich, mellow sound and beautiful looks) I am tending more towards the Squier for reasons of playability.

I have a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele and I really like it. I bought it 2nd hand and did the setup myself. It plays great. I have never played any of the other models so I don’t have any references for comparisons.

Hi Steve, I have a 2nd hand 50’s classic vibe tele myself, I need to change out the nut with a bone nut, how easy was the setup?
@steveg.3022
@steveg.3022 Жыл бұрын
@@lefty5757, I have never changed a nut, but I did glue one back on a guitar after it fell off. That wasn’t hard, but I’ve never cut the slots in a nut blank. I think that is a bit more involved. If the nut slots are the correct depth, a Tele setup isn’t hard. You’ll need the 4mm or 5mm Allen (hex) tool for the truss rod, a Phillips screwdriver for bridge saddle intonation, and a small Allen (hex) key for the bridge saddle height. There are plenty of good KZbin videos on this. I recommend you watch several before you do anything. The 50s style Tele bridge doesn’t allow individual string intonation, so you just do the best you can for each pair. I was mainly trying to eliminate some string buzzing. I ended up being successful at that, so I was happy.

Well, this is my approach to a question which is better. I have a classic series 50s strat. I don't like 7.5 and I find pickups not very good. A new neck costs 300 Euro and texas special prewired (because my pots and switch are also a bit wobbly) another 250 Euro. I can sell the guitar for 500-600 Euro. So that's 550 Euro saved and 500-600 euro earned from selling it. A price of a second hand american pro 2 is around 1300 Euros. I think this is a nobrainer, really.

In my opinion, they had it right with the American Original series. American Vintage II is a step backwards. Only thing I would say is an improvement are the pickups.

My only experience with Fender is first the American Ultra Butterscotch Tele with a Evertune bridge. Then I got the most recent American Vintage 2 1951 telecaster. There's such a contrast between the modern and original design.

I want to get a tele...and my doubts concern with that two models, ultra or vintage...which one you should recommend? Is ultra better playability worth it?
@Atlas65
@Atlas65 Жыл бұрын
@@bobwrightpeakblinder9698 I was just trying both in the store. And both me and my brother felt that the Ultra was much more neutral. Like it lacked character. While the 51 Vintage sounded like a dream. Ofcourse not all the guitars are the same. But judging from trying both of these in this particular store. This was the verdict. ... And also I admit that the 51 Vintage is not for everyone since it has a thick chunky U shaped neck. I haven't yet made up my decision wether I'm fine with that. Since i have been playing slim necks almost all my life. Starting with with Ibanez in my teens and then moving over to Gibson - You know after all. I might get the 51 after all, even though it is the most expansive one and cost twice as much then the one I was was first thinking about, the Vintera.

Main thing is. Yes soundwise it is not that much of a differance. But cheap guitars dont last as long. Knobs, pots, tuners get loose and cranky. I have been teaching guitar for 16 years and we usally buy cheaper guitars so i know what i am talking about. Higher end models like USA just last the lifetime and dont drop in value……
