Illuminating, as always. Great points on Canelo. I was on his hype train early, despite being a fan of GGG. Only reason I've been reticent to call myself a fan of his recently is that he's gotten to be a bit of a diva from a negotiating standpoint. However, it's tough to argue that he hasn't at least partially earned that, due to his drawing power and the fact that he can flat-out fight, and has elite skills. As for P4P number 1, I constantly flip-flop between Crawford and Loma. Calling them "1" and "2" is less fitting than calling them "1" and "1-A" in my opinion. Canelo would be third to them, with guys like Inoue, Usyk, Fury, and Spence filling out the rest of my personal list. As for Lomachenko...when he fought Rigo, I had a friend (who's 40 years old) constantly talking about how Rigo was going to school him. I saw him in person about two months later, and he started ranting about how Rigondeaux has "zero boxing IQ," and Loma is "nothing special anyway." Talk about being a clown...

Sean Donnelly: I have to say, for the first time, I disagree with something you said :). Fury does not belong as high as you put him. Why? Most people did not put him that high BEFORE Wilder. Therefore ONE fight is why some put him that high. That would not be the case with most other fighters and should not be with him. One must also ask why a fight where he is knocked down twice and almost out for the count in the 12th lifts him up to the top 5. As for the Klitchoes (?) they were always fortunate to fight during a dry spell in the heavyweight division. They were champs during the weakest time in recent history. In fairness all of these people should be over Fury: Mikey Garcia (still has only lost to a big welter and pound for pound), GGG (still beat such fighters as Jacobs and could be said, Canelo once) , Manny (still a real force in the welter division).

@@complexblackness : Let me say this to you sir. The reason it is taking longer is because I do not make my living off of youtube! I am too honest, too black and too Muslim for that to be to my benefit. Yes, I am a bit behind. Ok, in that case look at some other videos from the realist martial artist on social media-ME. Next, Another reason why it takes longer for me to post a video that needs to be edited is because I am a Martial artist SECOND and an Intellectual FIRST. That is why I am working on another channel that looks at social theory. Lastly, I also think the martial arts community that includes YOU should have known long ago that Rogan was a fake and should not need to be told that. Nonetheless, the video will be up soon.

Lomachenko and Crawford deserve to be #1 and #2 p4p. No doubt about it! About GGG vs Canelo, before the first fight, I was hoping to see GGG use body punching unlike in his fight against Jacobs if he wanted to fight the way he had to fight against Canelo imho. It didn't happen, so for the rematch, I still asked to see body punching, but except for round 4 or 5, there was nothing big to be said about it. Pryor to the rematch, I told people that if he did not bring the body punching, that he would not win the rematch. Of course he made it another close fight, but it seemed clear that GGG's tank is not as full as it used to be, and he did not confuse Canelo's guard and stamina enough by going downstairs. People said that GGG feared Canelo's counters, so he would not go to the body, but man, as much as I could see openings to the body in the first fight, when he went to the body in fight #2, I never saw one counter from Canelo when GGG did. No more in his prime, but yet the heart of a champion. HOWEVER, right now, he is simply a product. Fighting Steve Rolls and now avoiding the boxing machine Demetrius Andrade (for the WBO middleweight belt) to may be fight Munguia from 154 while Canelo skips on good looking boxer Andrade at 160 as well, young, strong and good looking Callum Smith at 168 and young/strong Bivol or Beterbiev to fight Kovalev at 175, who showed limitations and also shown as having low punch resistance, especially to the body? Canelo is a product too. If we were in a normal world with only champ per weight division, I am not even sure if Canelo/GGG would have ever happened. One thing, GGG would have lost pryor to that to the good fighters that would not fight him, or simply that GGG would have become better in fighting (win or lose) them and be really prepared for guys like Canelo. We would not call Canelo a three divisions champ because he fought a very weak Rocky Fielding to get a belt at 168, not having the real fight against the true 168 pounds champ, most probably Callum smith if I am right. My opinion. :)

Never ever GGG Had Been Better Than Marvelous Marvin Hagler!!!
@HalDanGhor

Of course, Canelo spent time along the ropes vs Golovkin, but it's not as if Canelo dominated at that time. It's simply that Golovkin didn't do much, which was in fact pathetic from Golovkin. There were openings, but GGG was simply into hesitation mode. Had he tried, may be we would have more real data about what happens when GGG brings somebody as good as Canelo along the ropes. For now, I'd rather say that it's dangerous to go into the ropes against GGG, but if you are an elite fighter, he'll most probably fight you differently and be more careful than usual. That's why I have Hagler as a much better middleweight than Golovkin. Whoever he's fought, Hagler has always been Hagler. And I am sorry, but when GGG fought Jacobs and Canelo, he NEVER started fast like he usually does. GGG vs big events may be, i don't know, but something was wrong with him, including the OBVIOUS lack of body punches in his last 4 fights (vs Jacobs, Canelo, Martirosyan and Canelo again) pryor to the Steve Rolls fight, where Golovkin got back at his old style a little bit, and it paid off. And god knows how body punches are needed for GGG to be at his absolute best. His boxing style needs it. Yes he has a tremendous jab, BUT had he used it like it has to be used, he would not get hit as much as he gets hit. So, yeah, without body punching, even if he deserved the decisions over Canelo, he left some doubts no matter what. Hagler would have used everything in his arsenal whoever was to win, unlike Golovkin.

HalDanGhor: Since I am busy with many things, I will make this short: Since Marvin Hagler is my favorite fighter and fought much like him in both the ring and street, few can tell me anything about him that I do not know or have not known since 19,yes, 1976. You can say that I am a scholar of Marvin Hagler from the time he was the best 154 AMATEUR boxer with HAIR!!!!! I SAW his amateur bout where he got BOXER of the NIGHT. Do you know the amateur he beat out for that award? RAY CHARLES LEONARD! Without any bull shit, my peers are old or dead, all others are students. Now, lets talk: AFTER the fact, it does not matter why GGG did not do this or that. My point was people like you possibly forget what you said BEFORE the fights. Nothing else matters! Few, if any people thought Canelo would survive being on the ropes and he did. Few people thought anyone would walk down GGG and Canelo did. All other talk after the fact is a waste of my time.

@@TheUmmahFightCamp Dang! Hagler had hair!! Never even thought about that in my whole life. You made me laugh Saïf. :) Good memories to you I guess!! Totally agree with what you said on GGG and Canelo. I expected GGG to fight differently in fight #2. Yet, it was Canelo who changed his style for the rematch and congratz to him for taking the center of the ring and forcing the bull to become a matador, which was not his usual role. Even if a lot of people saw GGG winning the rematch, I am not very hurt by the result. This was a close fight and an interesting fight. What hurt me is the lack of adjustments made by the GGG clan for this fight. All credit to Canelo this time for being the one who tried to be great no matter what. Never expected Canelo to do that, but in the other hand, I did not expect GGG to make it a war. I mean, his trainer, Abel Sanchez was talking about Mexican style stuff, but I always saw it as a strategy to make GGG's opponents fear exchanging with him. In fact, Abel was protecting GGG, to me, because the reality is that GGG may have a great chin, he almost never fought like a guy who has one. Cautious against punchers and not trading like crazy like, let's say Hagler or Holmes would do often. :)

@@HalDanGhor : Yes, Hagler had a little fro as an amateur and was, at one point the best 154 pounder in the nation. He was a favorite to go to the Olympics and win it all at that weight, but he turned pro. He never liked Ray, because he always thought he was better then Leonard. They go way back and one magazine even had an article of Hagler BEFORE he won the title that said: "The man Ray Leonard is afraid to fight".

@@TheUmmahFightCamp Verrry interesting! Good to know that he officially beat him in the amateur ranks. Did you ever score the Leonard-Hagler pro fight? I saw it for my very first time something like 20 years ago on TV (I am 40 right now) and the commentators had it for Leonard. Close but clear to them. Back then, I'd have the same opinion than them, but with years and experience, I preferred to put it as a competitive fight in which lots of different things influenced the final result. Commentator Yvon Michel (From GYM (Groupe Yvon Michel) in Quebec, Canada) said that sometimes, fights are won by LOOKING better, and that's a bit what Leonard did, though may be Hagler was the most effective overall. I also think that it's what Canelo did vs GGG to make it competitive on the judges scorecards. GGG was not flashy enough imho, so we cannot really blame the official result. :)

that Rigo fight was a 'work'. Rigo quit but look at his face. He didn't even look like he was in a fight. Loma is propped up as a great white hope. He has good skill but i don't think he sits down on his punches enough to hurt most fighters. He typically only punches hard if his opponent is covered up, you don't see if insert punches enough and that makes me believe his chin in suspect. Excellent foot work, quick hands, whiteness and a few thrown fights is the only reason we know this guy's name. You're right about Canelo tho. And I'll add that Mexicans don't like Canelo because he's not seen as "brave". The average Mexican fan sees his defensive skill as cowardly. They prefer fighters that bite down on their mouth piece, stand in the middle of the ring and exchange. Good video!

@@KWillo : Let me say this: I am the most honest boxing "commentator" on social media and this garbage about thrown fights when a fighter we like loses is tired. This happens too much with black folks and it is silly. Today the mob is NOT in charge of boxing in any way that would lead to a fighter throwing a fight. Loma was the favorite so if anything LOMA is the one who would have been approached to throw the fight! Here is the deal: I ALWAYS thought that Rigo was overrated and more than anything else, people loved his style. It was not too long ago that black people said Broner was going to be the next Floyd (OOOOkay, NOW I am going to read, "I never thought Broner was good"lol). Rigo was a counter puncher that started late! He was NEVER going to out work LOMA who is a volume puncher. No, the fight did not have to be thrown. LOMA is perhaps the greatest amature ever and yes, is the 1 or 2 p4p fighter in the world. And please people stop calling him a fighter like Whitaker! LOMA IS A SLUGGER who uses angles, he is NOT a boxer per se.
