One useful trick you didn't mention: These adaptive presets can be batch applied to a group of files, and the masks will be regenerated for each image individually. So if you have standard retouching you do for portraits (skin soften, lips sharpen, teeth whiten, etc), you can apply it to all images at once, rather than retouching each image individually.

I’ve been trying the adaptive presets a little bit, and I like how it adds the preset into the mask section.

I use Adaptive presets (my own and Adobe's) very often. You absolutely CAN stack presets. You just can't stack presets that have the same masks in them. But I frequently do the following: Use a preset I have that has no masks at all. Just an overall preset. Then I use a subject or portrait adaptive preset. Using the adaptive preset on top of the full image preset works fine and the adaptive preset only affects the masked areas as you would expect. I then often will use an adaptive sky preset. Different masks, so it stacks just fine. If i have a bunch of images to do taken at the same time, I'll save the final result as a user adaptive preset to use on all the remaining images. One click - BOOM. Done.

There is a way to stack presets, but it involves sending the image to Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, duplicate the background layer and convert to a smart object, right click that layer and choose "new smart object via copy". You now have 2 independent smart objects that you can apply different presets to in the Camera Raw filter. Don't just plain copy or the smart objects will update each other with the presets.

I presume you can adjust the AMOUNT slider to increase/decrease the strength of the preset. This could help on some examples like the sky effects which were too extreme IMO.

it seems that when I copy the settings from one photo to another of an adoptive preset, sometimes it just seems to set it at 100 instead of maybe 30.

Are Adaptive presets in LR Classic the same as Recommended and Premium presets in Camera RAW? If not, is it possible to use Recommended and Premium presets in LR Classic.

I’ve created and bought lots of presets in Lightroom over the last few months and the ones you buy I think can be mid sold. We all want film type presets but they aren’t an auto fix and I think people should now the difference between adaptive stuff and just presets which aren’t adaptive or auto. Presets are a good one shot enhance and are bad to stack. Like seasoning on a meal. The meal has to be good to start with and a little seasoning to to slightly lift. You can’t keep adding it to make the meal better, it will just get muddier. We Brits have the perfect expression, “you can’t put lipstick on a pig”.

When I hover over the presets, I don't show the changes. I have to click on the preset to make the change before I can see what it looks like. There is a setting in preferences that will allow the hover viewing. Does anyone know what and where it is?

If you duplicate that AI mask generated by an adaptive preset, that duplicate will stay, even if you add another preset which uses the same AI mask (e.g. face, eyes etc.). Like this, you can stack adaptive presets easily.
