In mathematics, a base or radix is the number of different digits or a combination of digits and letters that a system of counting uses to represent numbers. For example, the most common base used today is the decimal system. In this video, we comprehensively explain what bases are, and how we can convert them. This video also discusses their uses.

Grab 75, then divide it by the biggest power of base 8 that goes in 75, in this case, it's 8^2, or 64. Divide 75 by 64 but do not use decimals, keep the remainder, you'll get as a result 1 with a remainder of 11, grab the remainder and divide it by the next power of 8, in this case being 8^1, or 8 itself, you get 1 with a three remainder, then divide it by 8^0, or 1, you get 3 with 0 remainder. Grab the coefficients of each division and place them in order We got 1 after dividing by 64 We got 1 after dividing by 8 We got 3 after dividing by 1 The number converted is 113.
