A catalyst is something which speeds up a chemical reaction, but it’s mass is the same at beginning as it is at the end. This means that a catalyst is not used up during a reaction. A catalyst works by providing the reaction with an alternative pathway, one which has a lower activation energy than the pathway without the catalyst. Therefore, with a catalyst present there are more particles with the required activation energy required for more successful collisions to occur per second, hence the reaction is faster. there u go

Catalyst binding with reactant atoms to cause slightly different flexure of unique nucleus structure of reactant atoms in which new flexure of unique nucleus structure of reactant atoms will make it easier for orbitals of reactant atoms to overlapping one another. As soon as the reactant atoms reacting with one another, the catalyst detached from newly formed products as if it is not involved in the reaction therefore the catalyst never being consumed in the reaction but somehow it can hasten the reactions. No doubt that activated energy of the reaction has been lower with the help of the catalyst because the attachment of the catalyst to reactant atoms has caused new flexure of the unique nucleus structure of the reactant atoms to facilitate reaction. How and why catalyst can alter the path of reactions has not been fully explained except by claiming that the activated energy for the reaction has been lowered. It is time to focus on the right thing, which is the unique nucleus structure. We have been neglecting the importance of the nucleus for a long, long time. Currently, we only focus on the configuration of electrons without knowing that the configuration of electrons is due to the uniqueness of the unique nucleus structure of the reactant atoms. If you are interested in real discoveries, I would recommend you to read my book, The Unification Theory - Volume One and you will be amazed with lots of new, interesting discoveries. In God I trust. .

Think of the catyst as a car. You are the Reactant and your family is Product. Now you wanna visit your family for a special occasion. You'll go there by a car. The car will not be a part of you or your family, it will just help you to reach there. A catalyst is same. It will create a surface or a way for the reaction but not will be in the actual product.
