I'm really not bothered by injections but at the same time I get anxious when I have to get one. Does that make sense? Usually at the dentist I just close my eyes and try to relax. I've had terrible toothaches and experiences at dentists and I've just convinced myself that the injection is the easy part and I give each dentist the benefit of the doubt

I mostly don't react, but about 16 years ago I had one hit the nerve dead center under my mouth and my right arm shot up and hit the dentist's elbow in reaction. Thankfully I am now with better dentists.

Im either the not bothered or the white knuckle. Just depends on who's doing the shot. I can't even feel it when my regular dentist does it b/c he uses the really tiny needles and numbs your gums first. The endodontist that I saw today did hurt, but I didn't make any noise or move lol

I’m the loud cryer, heart rate go really high. Any sort of oral sedation doesn’t work on me like Ativan . Glad I don’t have to do this anymore as I just had all teeth removed under sedation and will have dentures.

so i got a filling this year, ive always had the laughing gas so i wasnt even aware that the needle existed until now. i walk in and the receptionist tells us "and just so you know we don't carry laughing gas. also your dentist is ready for you." so im thinking oh shit what if i get nervous? i lay down and he doesn't say a fucking word, he pulls my jaw open and puts the needle in. the only time he speaks is when i start sobbing to ask if i want numbing cream or not. please tell me if this is normal or not, because it HURT and i wasn't aware that comfort dental doesn't use laughing gas anymore. (btw i have anxiety so it totally could've just been my fault with being nervous and stuff)

Dr. Tawfiq is AMAZING!!!! I don’t even feel the slightest pinch when he injects the Novocain…yes he uses numbing gel but previous dentists who’ve used it on me I would still feel the injection.

Injections dont hurt if the dentist starts slowly. Just be warned that if they hit a nerve, thats a good thing. Youll be numb real good.

My dad is a dentist and he had to play piano music and get this kid a blanket before he can even sit in a chair. We had to pull my tooth one time because there’s a tooth already grown behind it and he gave me like five shots. I could say I didn’t feel a thing.

i remember when i had braces n one tooth hurt really bad when they put the bracket on there so i was crying from the pain(keep in mind i was like 11 when this happened im 18 now) and obviously my eyes were closed from crying so the lady whispered to my mom "hey were just gonna pull this tooth since its bothering her" and with NO warning they tried to numb me and i sat STRAIGHT UP twice and the needle went into the back of my throat those 2 times very weird but they got the tooth out n wtv yippee (but they definitely should have warned me before sticking me😭)

I always ask before I do so, but I put headphones on, play some music and tap my thumbs to my fingers counting as I go with my eyes closed, needles are a massive fear of mine, dentist too, put those together and I’m a total wreck so I do what I can to put myself at ease while also trying not to be difficult for the dentist. The more difficult you are, the longer the session will be.

I just had a root canal and crown down - I got 19 shots in my mouth. The first few? great - then I was the knuckler, then I was the silent crier festering with so much animosity - then the dude went straight into it! I was lightheaded as fuck and my chest felt like it was collapsing and he just kept apologizing saying "I can't just stop now". The most traumatic dental experience but hey - I appreciate the work done 😅
