This is by far the most simple and easy-to-understand video on the topic ive seen on youtube. Thank you

Hi! This is not my area of expertise, but I have two clarifying questions: 1. At 2:10, you listed the non-example of [1,0; 1,2]. but this is R2: 2R2 + R1. Does that not count as an "elementary row operation" because two operations happened? Even though it's a linear combination? 2. You also stated that elementary matrices are invertible; however, a matrix which encodes Rn: 0Rn would not be. Is that still considered an elementary row operation? Or just not invertible because it's a trivial case? Thanks!

Thanks for the questions! 1. That's correct, an elementary matrix results from EXACTLY ONE elementary row operation. 2. No, multiplying a row by 0 is not an elementary row operation. Multiplying a row by a nonzero constant is, however. Thanks for watching!

Elementary matrices? More like "Amazing videos; thanks for these!" 🙏

In the non-example, by doing R2-> R1+2R2 on the Identity Matrix 2x2 we can get there.
